In short: A great race - highly recommended! In full: Marshalls and the helpers running the check points were brilliant. Thank you for making your way to the middle of nowhere in some cases and spending hours waiting for us runners. We were so well looked after at the check points that I was sorry that there weren't more! Date of review: April 12, 2009

In short: A cracker In full: This was my first 40 miler and was a great introduction: scenic, really well organised, superb checkpoints with friendly marshals, and well signed (if you paid attention) with arrows and flour. Hard going underfoot so road shoes were ideal, luckily it's been dry lately so there was very little mud. A few tough hills which got longer and steeper towards the end of course! Great to chat to so many runners on the way round, was particularly impressed by the bloke carrying a 13kg paraglider and the bloke who'd done two triple ironmans.. Only small grumble is I would have liked a medal for a 40 mile ultra rather than yet another giant t-shirt. Or at least get some made up in ladies' sizes? Superb value though, will be back next year. In short: Great scenery, brilliantly run, killer hills! In full: This was my first time and I'll definitely be back, maybe the 40mile next year!
Very well run and the marshalling and way marking was superb considering pretty much all of it is off road.
Great scenery and nice t shirt and cream egg at the end! Date of review: April 12, 2009

In short: BRILLIANT In full: This is one of my all time favourite runs, probably because it put me higher up in the ultra run distance but the guys who organised this were pure professionals.
The marshalls and checkpoints were brilliant, they couldn't do enough to help you. Thanks to the lady at mile 25 checkpoint who made it her business to make sure my shoe rub was sorted. Date of review: April 11, 2009

In short: Excellent friendly event. In full: This is a difficult but great event. Very friendly and great club with great marshals. Well done to them. Plenty of support on the way around and some huge hills! Really makes you hurt in all the places. Brilliant food afterwards, well done to the cooks. Great venue in the school and great to have good facilities and hot showers. Well done to all and everyone that took part. Managed to get around in 6hrs 33min. Well worth the entry fee. Nice t-shirt. Top run. Date of review: April 11, 2009

In short: My favourite race!!! In full: My second Compton 20 and loved it as much as the drier 2006 conditions. It's a tough mixed terrain run with a few hard climbs but extremely enjoybale. The snow, sleet and wind made it even more so this year. Date of review: March 25, 2008

In short: Snow, mud, and smiling faces. In full: I had serious second thoughts when the snow began falling in earnest as we drove up to the school. It was 1 degree when we set off, on a slog through muddy fields, swampy bridleways, and punishing wind. The Marshalls were amazing out in it for hours, and still encouraging us all. No chance of a PB, there are very few stretches of road, and if the trail gets muddy, there is little if any traction. If you don't care about your time it is great fun, and such lovely people! I would definately recommend this. Date of review: March 25, 2008
