In short: Turns out our local 10k is a tough one!
In full: What's not to like about a 10k I can walk to?

Having been a resident of Stansted for a year I thought I'd found every hill, turns out that's not the case. Also didn't realise it would be quite so off country!

The hill at 8k up a muddy hill was fun, slipping descent that followed was far tougher though. The race really was either up or down, hardly any flat. Felt it was the toughest 10k I've done & once you get over the fact that there's no PB it became an enjoyable challenge. I'll value a 56min on this course over a 51 on a flat.

Shame it's only every 2 years, likewise a shame that the start was delayed. We had no PA system over at the start so wasn't sure why.

Perhaps extend chip timing to start & finish next time around?

In short: A lovely low key mixed terrain race
In full: This is a nice mix of road and cross country. Given the recent weather it was also muddy in places. There is enough challenge for a regular runner but the event is open enough that this could be a good first race as well. Plenty of marshalls and water stations, plus a finish at the pub on the village green - I'm not sure you could ask for more from a local race!

In full: Really enjoyed this race. Lovely to see lots of kids turn up as well. A real family event. The only thing that was missing was a safe area to keep one's baggage. Otherwise, 10 out of 10!

In short: First time run, will be back.
In full: The scenery was by far the best part of the race. There was an odd part right at the start of the 10k where we went onto a main road and had to run past an open petrol station (dodging cars!) thought this was quite dangerous and needless as once past this there was loads of countryside en-route to run in.
Advice to anyone novice or beginner: save your energy, there are some large inclines, especially one right near the end!
Fantastic having physio/massage stalls at the end, raising money for the charity. Was especially helpful as I was nursing an injury and was able to find out what was going on and what I could do about it.
Main Negative: Large queue at pub for toilets(please invest in lots of loos next year!)
Main Positive: Scenery, absolutely breathtaking-English countryside in the summer at it's best.

Those hills won't beat me, I will be back!

In short: Well supported, tough local event, Loved it!
In full: Very nice scenic but challenging course. Great organisation until I discovered that that my time wasn't recorded in the finishing tent. Saying that, it's now my local event and I'll definately be back again in 2 years time

In short: Best organized race yet
In full: So well organized - right from the easy to see directions for where to park, then directed to start of event. Start and finish close together no miles of walking. Loads of water stations. Water , medal and cap at finish. Plenty of marshalls.
Race over good, if very hilly course. I'll be back.

In short: Great atmosphere. Demanding multi-terrain course
In full: Not much to add. Really well organised, friendly, nice location, good facilities. Everything you could want from a local Sunday 10k except a flat course!
