In short: Best atmosphere possible In full: I thought I'd be uninspired by running 9 laps too, despite it taking place in the scenic Meadows but I soon realised this was a unique half marathon, with the most supportive crowd possible - choirs, acoustic guitarist (can he play at all my races?!) and a well-organised water station and non-stop support every lap!! Plus good weather! I've done more than a dozen halfs home and abroad but for sheer good will and enthusiasm this beats them all. Would recommend. PS the fact it's for charity isn't hidden so people shouldn't moan about fun runners, as some did! The fact it's laps is also well-publicised Date of review: March 3, 2008

In short: 9 laps of an average park area. In full: well, it measured short (12.74 on my garmin 305) and it was round a public park that i used to do some of my training on but as it was for charity (& was a race i had never ran before) i can't complain too much. not an inspiring run with the 9 laps and with it being short (think the start & finish should have been about 0.2 mile further back) it made the event disappointing. |Still, it has raised money for charity & my friend (Mitch Perley) won the 5K! was hoping to use it as the final hard run before the Dumfries marathon in a few weeks time but i feel i need to do a bit more.
