In short: Well organised, friendly run for all standards In full: Despite the postponement due to snow the race again was very enjoyable. I much prefer smaller races like this which have a frindkier feel to them than the larger events. Oragnisation was very good as were the facilities including refreshments for non-runners. I would recommend this race to anyone. Date of review: July 18, 2010

In short: Simply the best In full: This was my second time at High Legh, and once again it was brilliant - still my favourite race of the year. Great Marshalls and organisation, wonderful atmosphere, home baked cakes at the end and a PB too.

In short: Wonderfully organised, scenic race for beginners or fast 10k runners In full: Yet again this was a great day all round. Superbly orgainsed, with great communication despite the snow forcing a date change. Mostly flat course through the Cheshire lanes, cheerfully marshalled, well supported by the village and very welcoming to all runners and spectators. No queues, no big crowds, no searching for toilets, no hassle.
Quite a few PB's set this year also.
This is the way all 10k's should be run. See you next year. Date of review: April 27, 2010

In short: If a race could be described as 'homely', this would be it... In full: My first event that wasnt a big mass participation thing. My impression of these smaller races had been of lots of slim and lithe young ladies and gents zooming off into the distance.....as little ol' me plodded along.
Glad I was wrong then as there was a nice mix of club runners, plodders and first timers that gave the event a friendly and accessible feel.
Congrats to the organisers, a sound little 10k and a big thumbs up here. As a reviewer said earlier, perhaps a tad later in the year wasnt such a bad thing? Date of review: April 21, 2010

In short: The best 10K race on the calendar...... In full: Why? Because it's pretty faultless...
A little gem of a race, just a small 10K in Cheshire, proudly supported and marshaled by the friendliest community that is High Legh. This event attracts all; club runners, social runners, first timers, charity and fun runners. Plus perfect scenery, quiet country lanes, even a sub 60 pacer to help those looking to crack the hour and a last runner marshal to accompany, motivate and congratulate beginners on their first ever race! Poshest portaloos ever too! Even the coffee shop at High Legh garden centre opened early pre-race at 9am courtesy of Manager Neil Phelps. Post-race presentation with home-made tea and cakes and following this for those who wanted it a post-race curry was planned. Regulars have fallen in love with this race, some travelling over 500 miles each way to take part and make a whole weekend of it, so be there in 2011. Word of warning though, this race sells out rapidly, so sign up early!! See you next year ;) Date of review: April 21, 2010

In short: Brilliant again!! In full: Every year I look forward to getting my email about the High Legh 10k. It is just the best 10k out there, by far. I must admit I wasn't too disappointed about the postponement from Februay to April, I much prefer running in the warm sun, and I had been ill over Christmas and the tedious snow had restricted any training I wanted to do, so I was happy with April --- any chance of a permanent Spring date??--- The communication over the postponement was first class. The organisation of this event is really faultless and the atmosphere un rivalled, from the friendly marshalls to the friendly spectators, it's great. The only down side is that my times are progressively slower each year by 15 seconds!! Next year I will be back and set a pb for the course. Thanks again to all who helped make it another terrific success. Date of review: April 13, 2010
