In short: A well organised run, great finish with a big crowd to cheer you home. In full: Overall, a really good race, I would definitely recommend it to others of all levels. For me, the only downside was the marshalls along the route, they didn't seem to realise they were there to encourage those in need, they were just standing there with their headphones on or on their phones, I think they were just paid help. Great atmosphere at the start/finish though, with a zumba warm up, music, tombola, food and ice cream vans! Date of review: October 4, 2011

In short: Fun and flat - helped by the glorious weather In full: This was a great event. There was a bit of a scrum at the start, which would have been helped by organising runners/walkers into separated groups at the very least. Long queues for the loos at the start meant I missed the group warm up - a shame because it looked like fun! Otherwise though, it was great. The scenery is beautiful (and helped out by the sunshine!) Plentiful water stations, lots of support on the course, pretty much flat all the way round (apart from a couple of small bridges) and nice goody-bag with snacks in. I really enjoyed this race. In short: You chase people dressed as bananas. How much more fun is there to be had?! In full: Excellent fun race with pb potential. 2 laps around Willen Lake in MK makes for a lovely scenic run. The pack can get a little crowded at times because of the thin foot paths but the pack soon spreads out. Free t-shirt to run in as well as an excellent medal, goody bag, lots of bananas (real ones to eat!) and chip timing. Loads of support from locals on a day out and plenty of space for family and friends to come along and watch :) Will definitely be back! Date of review: September 8, 2011

In short: Fast and fun two lap race. In full: First year running this one for me, but it was recommended by several friends. All round a good experienced. Well organised, marshalled and marked, plenty of (too many?) water stations, lots of people lining the course cheering you on. Great goody bag and a medal at the end. Great atmosphere despite the wet weather. Will be back next year. Date of review: October 10, 2010

In short: Great atmosphere, shame about the bananas. In full: Really sociable race, nice scenery, great marshals, and plenty of cheering despite the rain. Unfortunately the bananas didn't bother to run an even pace for the back of the pack; I was looking forward to passing at least three in open competition, in fact I only saw two, and they were standing about chatting at a water station. All of us runners put plenty of effort in for this great charity event, even the fat and slow among us. It's a shame the chaps in yellow couldn't show us some respect. Date of review: October 3, 2010

In short: Great race around Willen Lake - good atmosphere! In full: All in all a good race. Well marshalled, great atmosphere, and a great charity and family feel, wonderful to see the bananas! On a minor point, it would be better to have clearer areas at the beginning in terms of finishing times. There were a few moments at the beginning having to navigate people at the start whose pace was slower than mine, but a great race and lovely medal. Second year of entry for me, and won't be the last! Date of review: October 3, 2010

In short: Lovely friendly atmosphere, nice flat run with PB potential In full: Friendly race at Willen Lake in MK. Novelty factor of bananas to race against although they weren't very good at keeping to their predicted pace! Everyone in banana yellow tshirts makes for a fun event. Well signposted and clear km markers. All my family had a fun day out. Date of review: September 15, 2009

In short: Nice and gentle for a first time 10k In full: Great race for a first timer. One or two of the marshals weren't particularly enthusiastic which for a first time runner towards the back was a little disheartening (although I haven't done any other races before so other people might disagree). Great organisation though. Date of review: September 14, 2009

In short: Brilliant - but the bananas did not run at the advertised pace In full: I really enjoyed this race. Organisation, marshalls, facilities and everything else was perfect. A very minor gripe is that the bananas did not run at the times advertised in the pre-race material. This is very minor and not meant to offend those who run as bananas - all of them were brilliant and their stories about how they were effected by Leukaemia were very moving. I just feel it would have been better not to advertise their predicted times in the race material as this gave the false impression that they were pace markers. Bananas 7+8 had a predicted time of something like 1:10 + 1:15, yet both finished in the same time of 1:01. Date of review: September 14, 2009
