In short: Nicely challenging and very well-organised
In full: Great course, and a welcoming feel to the well-organised event. The course was really well-signed and -marshalled.
Quite a tough climb, but the water station was well-positioned (you pass it on the way up and down) and the drummer and bag-pipe player were nice touches.
Would definitely do it again.

In short: Really well marshalled small event. Course was a tough as hell but the views made it worth while. Kiddies additional 1K run with a medal was a really nice touch. My 4 and 2 year olds loved it.

In short: A long haul up and a much faster second half
In full: The race was quite well organised and the hill climb was quite challenging but good fun. There wasn't much there for spectators, a tantilising kids play area that we weren't allowed to use and the teashops in Winchcombe were too far to walk to and back in an hour.

In short: A bit along the flat leads to a fairly long but steady climb. Best bit is coming back down!

In short: Very tough but great fun
In full: Although I train over large parts of the course, I wasn't expecting to enjoy this race as much as I did. The start is very fast, and then after about 2km it starts to climb and boy! does it climb! However, once you're at Belas Knap it's all down hill - so it's a bit of a shame that I'm so rubbish at descending. Still, great race, lovely atmosphere, superb setting - I'll be back.

In short: Well organised and friendly in a beautiful setting
In full: Organisation was excellent and marshals were friendly. Legs are still aching after the long climb to the top of hill and the faster descent.

There is a large playground/fort next to the start/finish which looked ideal for entertaining the kids whilst we were running. Unfortunately, entry to the playground is included in the cost of entry to the castle, so works out very expensive unless you are planning to visit the castle on the day.

In short: Excellent new race
In full: Well done to the organisers, what a great little race, lovely atmosphere, good challenging course up one great big hill, but what goes up, has to come down just faster! Really enjoyed it, and would do it again without question.
