In short: Some hills, hot, but good run. In full: Some lovely rural roads, there is small bit a long a busy road which was a bit noisy and gritty but otherwise fine. A couple of challenging hills but then evens out about half way. The finish was a little confusing as you see where you expect the finish line to be and then have to run around a field so save some energy for a bit extra.
Reasonable amount of water stations, though only cups, worth taking your own water due to how hot it was. Good marshaling and parking was fine. Date of review: December 28, 2015
In short: First time for this one, will be back for the challenge again! In full: Had planned to do Newark half but online entries said 'full' so I opted for this. What a nice surprise! Glad I did it, it was tough in parts and made me work hard. So no regrets about not doing the half, I'll be back for this one. I was delighted with my time given a couple of long and tough climbs, great preparation for Chesterfield Spire 10!!! Date of review: August 11, 2010
In short: hot and hilly but got a PB In full: second time doing this one and the hills were just as tough the second time around. hard working people at the water stops made sure we did not suffer in the sun. an enjoyable Sunday morning, thankyou Date of review: August 9, 2010
In short: Nice route, tough in the sun! In full: Very well organised, marshalled and water stations. Undulating but not impossible though the heat made it hard work. T-shirt at the finish. would recommend Date of review: August 13, 2009
