In short: Excellent - mud, climb and a dunking
In full: Great fun. Wonderful atmosphere with a good crowd on the high street, a brass band and the carnival before the start. Lovely course, slippy and slidey challenging in places and some tough (but not as tough as I had feared) climbs. Great views from the top before dropping back into the valley for a good dunking at the finish! And to top it all of I was handed a pair of socks!

In short: Splosh!
In full: Ideal as a first fell race, at the bottom end of the glorious Goyt Valley, with panoramic views from the highpoint at Windgather Rocks.
Run off the annual carnival/procession, so great atmosphere and plenty for spectators to see/do.
Awesomely well organised by Goyt Valley Striders.

In short: Great fun, but tough.
In full: SO very friendly.
Tough climbing to start and had to do a lot of walking, but eventually got into the swing of it and had a great time.

In short: Tough but fun
In full: There seemed to be more than 800 feet of climbing but worth it for the view at the top. A bit cooler and less humid up there too.
The start was delayed by the carnival procession but that wasn't a problem, glad it wasn't raining though.
The river crossing was very welcome, pity it didn't come about halfway.
Apart from the procession, there were other carnival attractions so something for the family to do while you're running.

In short: Great race, well organised with a big splash to finish.
In full: Althogh I'm not a fast runner I enjoyed this race, excellent views and well marshalled. Bit of a shock at the end but good fun. Wished I could have finished earlier so that I could have watched others do the river crossing.

In short: What goes up must come down...
In full: Great race with a mile or so of touch climbs early on, but as the saying goes, what goes up..........

fast descent and a finish that ends with a 5 foot swim !!! Brilliant.

In short: Good race, if anyone has wanted to try a fell race this is a perfect one to start with
In full: Not done a fell race for a while, and this was just the perfect race to get me back into it, bit steep for the first couple of miles, then nice across the tops, good descent down and a lovely river crossing at the end to cool you down and clean your shoes!!!!!!!!!
