In short: Challenging but very friendly
In full: A challenging hilly course but marshalls and spectators very friendly and supportive. Problems with registration have already been documented but were the only blip in otherwise excellent organisation

In short: Great race, excellent marshalls
In full: I loved this race despite the evil hills. The marshalls were really friendly and encouraging, the hills were torturous and the goodies at the end which included a beer for the guys were excellent. As others have mentioned, the only thing that let it down was the 45 minute queue for the pre-registered entrants !

In short: Challenging race but not impossible
In full: Very well organised apart from the messy number collection at the start. Flowers and beer were nice touches and a great medal.

A brilliant way to spend a birthday!

In short: A good route and lots of supportive marshalls.
In full: The Beast proved to be a good route, the down-hills making up for the two major climbs. The marshalls were ever-present and ever encouraging. The twist in the tail of having to climb Windmill Hill when it all seemed to be over, was compensated for with the wonderful, gravity-aided descent through the park to the finish line - whoosh!
One improvement needed, please: 3 queues, well labelled, so that pre-entries, entries on the day and family fun runners know where to go. The 2009 single queue in the narrow corridors of the sports centre was a low point as we asked each other "what are we queuing for" as others pushed by!
A rather stressful first 45 minutes of the event, but the event was excellent.
Thanks

In short: Lovely views, friendly marshals, great valueand good organisation.
In full: First time I've done this race. I'd been warned about the hills so knew it would be a challenge. Very well marshalled - all very attentive and encouraging. Good organissation and goody bag. I like the medal - one of the best I've had.

In short: Came all the way from Australia for this race!, was a fantastic event
In full: The Beast was a great event, the marshalling was so good and they were so encouraging. The well done signs were inspiring, loved my T Shirt ,medal and flowers,. Came a long way (Australia), but was a great day. Kids fun run was a big highlight for my 7 year old. Only complaint was the weather, at least okay for the run up the very steep hills!

In short: love this race
In full: I knocked 31 minutes of my 2006 time so incredibly pleased. If you train on hills then this race is great. Marshalls very friendly and encouraging. Loved the well done signs and the half way sign was a great boost. Super t shirt, medal and flowers. Definately a race I will do every year. Well done to all the organisers
