In short: Well organised race which supports a local charity so cost is fair enough. Nice course but narrow in places for the number of people. Date of review: November 5, 2009

In short: Good race, well orgainised. In full: I enjoy this race. This year it was run in the opposite direction and there was a slight course change to last year to make up for the supposed shortness of last year. No one has complained this year so it seems to be close to the 10K mark!
The hills are not too steep but do seem to continue for some distance. Care has to be taken in the forest (there were signs to this effect) as I had a man stumble onto his hands and knees just in front of me - thankfully he was not hurt.
I noticed the results were posted on a board next to the track at about 12:30pm so that is quite impressive. Date of review: October 28, 2009

In short: Very pleasant surroundings with good mix of entrants In full: First time doing this race.
I'm just creeping back to fitness, so found it quite a tough run in places, but there's nothing that should put off a newcomer.
The organisation was great, with the exception of the entrance to the forest, where I was held up for 2 minutes, waiting to get through the narrow entrance.
The terrain is bumpy and undulating with one or two steep stretches where most people stopped to walk.
Weather was perfect, but I did wonder what it would have been like in heavy rain. Could have been pretty difficult underfoot.
All things considered, a race to recommend. Organised by the local hospice, so I didn't begrudge the £15 entry, and even brought along a bag of stuff for their charity shops. A worthy cause, and a very pleasant event. Date of review: October 19, 2009

In short: Thank you In full: Thank you to all the volunteers who turned up for this one today. It was freezing early and you all did a great job. Course is a bit narrow and the gate after 500 metres might need a rethink, but otherwise it was a great run that I enjoyed. Date of review: October 18, 2009

In short: Enjoyed a pb so was it a bit short? Always enjoy this one In full: Not too muddy but still pretty uneven under foot - its a good testing course but wasn't quite sure if its the full 10k. Has the course changed again I didn't notice anything but it just felt shorter? Date of review: July 14, 2008

In short: Lovely day, lovely race In full: One of the best race days I have had in a while, very good atmosphere and plenty of runners of all abilities.Good organisation except at one point at the motorway crossing when you had two way traffic through a small gate but other than that it was fine.Goodybag wasnt all that but the emphasis was on charity. Got a good time but know i could have done better. I'd do it again!!! Date of review: July 14, 2008

In short: Off road and in the trees In full: A very entertaining run. Track start and finish, and Tilgate Forest in between.
Its more or less completely off road, mostly in forest tracks which can be a bit uneven at times.
Its fairly hilly too, though the hills are out of the way by half way.
But there always something of interest while you run.
Not sure about PB potential, as there were a few bottle necks early on, plus the narrow tracks can make it difficult to pass people.
