In short: Lovely scenery and well organised
In full: The organisation was good, with waves and coach transport. The scenery is our lovely Thames and the weather played its part too, and although some paths are narrow it's possible to pass most of the time Well done to the organisers for changing the route to accommodate the Olympic rowing.

In short: Another one for next year
In full: From my 2009 rating as still valid...."Simply excellent - stunning views along the river bank. Helpful, friendly & supportive marshals. Good number of water stops. When the course was moved away from the river bank the route was well marked. Well organised & well supported at the end. Top Tip - when next year`s entries are open get in fast. Many thanks to Claire, Chris & their team for another great Purple Patch event."

In short: Hot hot hot
In full: 2nd year in a row I've run this and it doesn't get any easier. This time the start was from Slough due to the work for the Olympics but scenery over that way was very pleasant and no problem with parking at the start.

Hot day removed most of the water that had piled up due to the weeks of rain beforehand but there were still some muddy parts at the end which were a bit energy sapping.

Much slower time than last year due to recent illness but glad I took part and recommended event from great organisers.

In short: Generally well organised
In full: Reasonable event. Slightly lacking in atmosphere at the start. Some poor marshalling early on had 5 or 6 runners at the front heading off in the wrong direction - hopefully sorted out when the rest of the runners came through. Apart from that, well organised.

In short: Even a bad trip couldn't spoil this special race
In full: Well organised and usual lovely scenery. I tripped over one of the moped hazards just after mile 5 and had a bad fall. Marshall and other runners were very solicitous of me. And at the finish a race organiser really looked out for me and got me to St John's A tent. Thank you! A poor time but a big sense of satisfaction to finish after blood streaming down my leg and hand.

In short: A mixed course featuring grass, gravel, mud patches, stairs and a herd of cows!
In full: My 1st half, a good race, but a race start time of 10am given a hot day in July might need to be revised, a 9am start might work better, also no goodie bag or sweet snack at the end.

In short: Great route, great scenery and very well organised
In full: Different start location to normal but it was very easy to get to by train. Staggered start and intial lap reduced any congestion so overtaking was not a problem (for me anyway).Marshals the best i have experienced both for support and direction. Would have really enjoyed it more if i had coped with the heat better but great to relax on the grass at the finish supporting others. Highly recommended
