In full: Fantastic as always, great atmosphere. This race is about participation rather than pb's. I ran with my 8 year old and his friend. Great medal and outstanding goodie bags. Will be back next year. Date of review: December 14, 2014
In short: A great sponsored walk - no chance to even jog all the way unless you start at the front. In full: This is a popular, fun event but don't expect to be able to run/jog all the way, the pavements are too narrow and there's too many people walking in large groups. It would be great if there were more road closures and so more space. In the end though, it's a good laugh and (hopefully) raises lots of money for a good cause. Date of review: December 14, 2014
In short: Sea of multi-coloured Santas In full: Love the way the organisers try and change this a bit each year, this year was multi-coloured Santa suits! I opted for girlie pink :) Race was brill as usual, great way to get in the Xmas spirit, well organised and fun for all the family. Band were brilliant too. Date of review: March 9, 2014
In full: 3rd time for me, parking was easy, did it with my 7 year old, generous post race bounty, medal, mug, cereal, present for children, Batala band were great, will be back next year Date of review: December 15, 2013
In short: Great fun for all abilities, putting you in the mood for Christmas In full: Great fun. Our mission was to reach the finish line with sweaty santa garb, inc beard, intact. It was tougher - and sweatier - than we thought. A great race to get you into the festive spirit and suitable for all abilities. I'll be back again next year. Date of review: December 30, 2012
In short: Good fun. Brilliant to see everyone dressed up! In full: The 10k route merged with the 5k meaning you have to make your way past all the 5k runners. Good as a fun run but no chance if you want to open your legs up a bit towards the end! Good prizes for all. Date of review: December 18, 2012
In short: Santa Claus is coming to town! In full: What a great bit of fun, which is what this event is all about, not to be taken too seriously when it comes to the running, but costume prep is everything!!
I had a great time dressed as The Grinch who stole Christmas, I scared some kids, got to wear green tights and makeup, helped raise some funds for the RNLI, helped a non-running friend achieve a 5k distance and fall in love with running and enjoy the little jaunt myself.
Fun, friendly, great atmosphere, great value. Not often you get to go running with circa 2000 Santa's with bemused onlookers wondering what the hell is going on.
Certainly not one to be missed if you have a sense of humour and are up for a laugh. Date of review: December 17, 2012
In short: Fun Run In full: A fun 10k run along the sea front.
Pros- 100's of santas running is a sight you have to see. The crowds all along the route where brilliant. The medal at the end and the cup are great along with a Santa suit. Great value.
Cons- The 10k start was some distance from the 5k start and unless you knew this or happend to over hear someone telling someone else where it was there was nothing about to let you know. Someone just shouted start, I only knew this cause people started moving in front of me. Run on normal footpaths which where open to everyone so when the 10 and 5k merged you had to dodge walkers, dogs, kids, cafe furniture and people bimbiling along the footpath. Not very well organised.
Think I will give it a miss next year. It is defo just a fun run and no real point doing the 10k. Date of review: December 16, 2012
In short: Great value festive family fun In full: Excellent race for all the family. Well organised, great medal/cup at the end (plus mince pie and toys for the kids) and hopefully lots of money raised for the RNLI. A must in my Christmas calendar. Thanks Rob and team for brill organisation, see you next year :-) Date of review: December 16, 2012
In full: Last year I did the 10k, this year was the 5k so I could go with my son (6 years old). I used the suits we had from last year, weather was great. Both bands were good and batala are always fantastic. Very pleased with the cup/medal/pen. My son was more than happy with his toy which was a motorbike, good value for money and will be back next year :-) Date of review: December 16, 2012
