In short: Newham 10k Charity Fun Run may raise a few eyebrows, all for the right reasons.
In full: Newham 10k maybe low key race, but it attracted a quality field of runners from far and wide. This race maybe flat but seemed tough and endless on a warm day.

The race started on the track at Terence McMillan Stadium and out onto the road into park turning back to retrace our steps back into the track.

Personally, I was not pleased with my results, but I was more than happy with the organisation. We got bottle of water at the start and at the finish of the race :=)
I was also awarded with a t-shirt and a pretty medal upon completion. There were no “goody bags” as advertised.

Over all this was a great organised race. Oui, I would be happy to run this race again. Well done Mark Caswell and his South London Fives team.

Runners please note that Newham 10k Charity Fun Run should not be mistaken for Newham 10k Classic. The next South London Fives 10k race is Demanche 10th Octobre at Bushy Park Hampton see ‘RUNNERS WORLD UK’ or ‘South London Fives’ web-site.

In short: Better than last year
In full: Well, they opened the gates which made it a whole lot more pleasant than last year! And 2 minutes and 20 seconds quicker, so overall pretty enjoyable. I wouldn't travel far for it, but if you're local it's well worth doing. Thanks to the marshalls.

In short: The worse organised race I have ever done
In full: The worse organised race I have ever done! No chance to build up a steady pace and rythm as you had to keep stopping and queueing to pass through country style swing gates. The finish was at a stadium and there was no directions indicating if you should run a lap or if the race was finish, which resulted in confusion. No water given out during the race and even the t-shirt at the end was a joke, no mention of the race just a nasty advert for Honda.

In short: Good race, well organised. Enjoyed it.
In full: The event got some bad reviews last time regarding water running out and medals running out. But the organisers responded in the desired fashion and made sure of no such repeats this time. It was a fun race and the atmosphere was really good. I would recommend this race. Well done to the organisers.

In short: very low key run
In full: kilometre signs in wrong places, boring course along A13, then on the greenway where you had to squeeze through gates or duck under bicycle gate.

In short: Ok if you have nothing better to do
In full: A good mix of runners, the scenery was nothing special, in fact may be a bit depressing. volunteers were good although a bit disappointed that although the person in charge of the bags (whom at the start was giving out numbers for the collection of your own bag) was not there to give out the bags back once the run was finished, people could have picked any bag...
There was no goody bag at the end although stated in the registration info of runners' world. They have improved compared to last year: water was available at the 5K and finish, also medals +t-shirts given to everyone. Good value for £10 fee.

In short: Nice run for Sunday morning if you have nothing else to do
In full: I really eanjoyed this one. It's a very local run, no crowds, felt more like everyday training that competitive race. 2,5 laps on the stadium and the rest on Greenway. Traffic free, nice scenery, friendly people. Nice way to start your day

In short: Flat and friendly
In full: Yes, KM markers at right places would help.

Surprised that they have a non traffic race in Beckton so you should expect to be running by the A13.

As a first timer, did not know the course was flat until I run it.

Thanks to volunteer marshalls. Organisation by non running club so everything just a little bit disorganised compared to most events.
