In short: Looking forward to this race all year - didnt disappoint
In full: Really excellent race - well organised, nice goodie bag (although maybe add reflective bits to tshirt). Loved the kids squirting water over the runners at the water stops as it was quite hot. Great support in the little hamlets en route. Definately will be in the calendar for next year.

In short: A fantastic half marathon
In full: The organisation was excellent. It was a beautiful day and there was a friendly atmosphere at the start. The guys on the PA system were very funny. I did wonder where everyone would stand had it been pouring with rain though?

There was a minutes silence for 9/11 which was very respectful. It was announced many times during the morning but some competitors were not quiet. I think this was for two reasons: the PA system wasn't loud enough. And people were excitable.

The route starts in the town and goes out into the countryside which is very very pretty. It is mainly flat although anyone who knows Chippenham knows there is a hill in the town centre.

There was more support than I expected along the route which was greatly appreciated.

I struggled in the heat. I was incredibly touched by how supportive my fellow runners were to me. I walked at some points during the race and so many people ran past me shouting words of encouragement which was very kind of them. After a hot day use of the clubhouse showers was a bonus. Marshals were great - very helpful and supportive. I can't wait for next year.

In short: I keep running it, and I keep getting slower, but it's such a great race that I keep coming back for more. That's how to organise a half marathon.

In short: Great local half!
In full: I have just found out there was a one minute silence - I was at the back of the pack and didn't even know about it on the day! I also missed the pre-race briefing as I was in the loo queue.

The uphill drag from 9 and a half miles was harder than expected - perhaps I need to train more!

In short: Very well organised
In full: I seem to be in a minority here in finding the 3 miles of steadyish uphills from 9.5m onwards challenging. I would have called it undulating but maybe it's just because I'm not as fit as I was :-). I'd guess that the course is about 2% slower than Bath. The race is very well organised with an excellent technical t-shirt and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
