In short: Some tough bits, lots of scenic bits and very friendly
In full: Very friendly and helpful organisers. Pretty start along the river then heads for the hills. Some lovely climbs and dips through the woods, not a stroll in the park but great fun and very rewarding.

In short: A challenging but rewarding course
In full: First time running this one, and it's a great discovery. Yes, the course is challenging but it's well worth it as there is some fantastic countryside to run through and the whole event is very welcoming. Thanks to everyone for their efforts and time.

In short: Lovely atmosphere and well organised.
In full: This was my first attempt at 10miles and it was a good challenge in a non-intimidating environment. Some parts of the course are single track which makes it hard to over-take (or be over-taken).

In short: A welcome change from big city racing
In full: I did this race in 2010 and loved the scenery and small, local feel that I ran it again this year (despite competition in the form of the Maidenhead Half Mara close by). I'm really glad that I did. The course is very much off-road (a few very short road sections), wooded in places and with some steep uphill sections that force pretty much everyone to walk in parts. Whatever your speed, this race will hurt! But the scenery is well worth it. More importantly perhaps, I loved the fact that it is still a small local race with no frills. There are some reasonably fast old timers at the front, but plenty of scope for slower runners to enjoy the race on its own terms. And although there's little support along the route, there's genuine support at the finish from spectators and other finishers with a real sense that everyone wants everyone else to do well.
Just one tip though - take it easy for the first three miles (where it is flat) or you will suffer badly on the uphill sections!

In short: Well organised, challenging but fun
In full: if you like running in countryside with Red Tail Kite's soaring overhead and like the challenge of a couple of steep climbs, this well organised race is the one for you

In short: First event in my race calendar each year, love it, despite THAT hill.
In full: I think this race is spot on & wish there were more like it. The course is challenging but beautiful, scenic. The race itself is friendly with a great atmosphere. A big thanks to the cheery marshals, the organisation is faultless. Reminded me why it's first on my events calendar each year. To top it all it's a bargain, I wish more people would run it to secure it's future. See you next year hopefully!

In short: Fab race as always - if you ran the M'head half you missed out!
In full: Great course, fantastic organisation and a fun and friendly atmosphere. This is what racing is about at all levels. We need more family friendly races like this.

In short: Hard work, but worth it!!
In full: This race was hard work from about mile 3 onwards but doesn't everyone love a challenge? It was well worth it for the beautiful views and camaraderie on route. It was excellently organised, very good value for money and one I'd consider doing again once I've forgotten how I felt Sunday afternoon :o)
