In short: Great fun! In full: This is the first time I have done a race of this sort. I was a bit apprehensive before arriving at tne psrk. I needn't have worried, it was truly wonderful from arrival to departure. Everyone - all the organisers, marshalls, competitors were extremely friendly and helpful. :) Can't wait to do it again!! In short: Great scenery, traffic-free, with a few challenges thrown in - what's not to like? In full: This was the first cross-country race I've entered since leaving school - it's great fun, the scenery is fantastic, and it's a great but do-able challenge to any cross-country newbie. Stiles are harder to cross than you think when you've got jelly legs! There were four or five stiles, a full-on log jump, a couple of fences and then the 'water feature' to cross. The organisation was excellent, everyone was friendly, all in all it's a great race to be involved in. Date of review: November 10, 2011
In short: Another Great Year at Attingham Park for the Mad Jacks In full: Smooth organisation, excellent and challengeing course, mud, water and a mixture of teraine mean that Mad Jacks is a not to be missed event for the people of the Midlands.
In short: Great Race !! In full: This was my first ever race and was nervous before start. Then as soon as i started i loved every minute. Great course in a great location and has definatly given me the bug to do more races and push myself further Date of review: November 11, 2010
In full: What a great race !! Very nearly the perfect cross country course, all it needed was a good hill or Two. The course had a bit of everything, including the disapointingley shallow water feature at the finish. Just a pity most cross country leagues don't have courses this good. In short: Great Short Distance Trail Race In full: 5 miles of challengeing but scenic and fun raceing is what will await you at the Mad Jacks 5... and a little mud and possibley a little swim!
This trail couse is set out perfectly so that each mile present a differnt challenge, starting off with field running, then stles and fences to hop over, then some park land gravel paths then wood land tracks, then a riverside path run, before a last dash across the fields again and a wade through a pond before the final srint for home!
A really good race, and even without goodie bagsm and medals, you still go away feeling postive from the hole experience.
Negatives, Course distance was a little over 5 miles on my Garmin (5.15) but thats a very minor niggle. Date of review: November 8, 2010
In short: First time - but I will come back. Thanks to all. In full: This was a lovely run - with a late start, so a relaxed start to the day too! The route was lovely and marshals were without fail supportive. Lots of opportunity for supporters to get involved - especially at the 'water feature'. Really good event.
