In short: muddy fun
In full: this was my first trail race. although it had been dry lately and much of the route was very hard and dry, there were still quite a few muddy bogs, streams and ditches to cross. Being a shortie, one of the bogs was hip-deep. Overall, quite challenging but fun.
A couple of marshalls seemed disinterested but most were friendly and encoraging (I was near the back so some of them had been out there a while).
My kids (age 7 and 10) did the mini turbo and got suitably muddy (like they wanted), but were a bit disappointed that only 12 kids entered.

In short: Brilliant race, but not quite as good as previous Turbo X's...?
In full: Great race, very challenging, great fun in the mud :)

The interesting thing is why this didn't feel as good as last year, a few things I think might have caused this;
- smaller field? I was pretty much on my own for half the race which meant I missed out on the banter, especially in the muddy bits
- lack of marshals, some key bits of the course with no-one there and some really not interested in the race :(
- some bits of the course where the markings could have been clearer (I was reminding people to follow the markings, not other runners ;) ) and one area where they had obviously been removed and I went the wrong way!
- tech tee sub-standard to previous years, shouldn't have bothered with the cap. bottle and For goodness shakes was good though :)

In short: A really good race, whatever your standard
In full: 2nd time I have ran this and loved it again. Brilliant course with lots of challenges. A real shame there weren't as many runners this year. My only gripes would be: 1) cups of water instead of the usual handy bottles (gave up waiting at the first water stop for a drink); 2) Goody bag was a bit sparse and the large t-shirt was not nearly large enough; 3) Only a few of the marshalls appeared interested out on the course...complete contrast to the Forces cadets at Bordon who are amazing. Still a great race though and with a few minor tweaks would be an outstanding race.

In short: Great Fun.
In full: I've done a few of these Tubo X races now. Good fun all the way. What happened to the idea that the X Zone was the v.muddy bit?

I would echo what people said about the good bag. Anyone worn their dairy milk hat yet? All the same good fun.

For those asking about the distance. My Forerunner made it 9.29

In short: Brilliant. Made me feel like I was 10 years old again. (What do you mean its 13 miles?)
In full: Really, really enjoyed this. Splish, splash, splosh. Squelch.

The much feared X zone was a bit dull though and the lady running the chip tent told me that it was 13 miles (there were 13 "m"s on the map) which was wrong and messed with my pace a bit.

Looks like the organisors have lost sponsership from solamon saab as the race T-shirt was a inferior to a solamon branded one.

In short: Excellent - Anyone with a GPS clock the actual distance ?
In full: Very good fun, but like some others I nearly missed a few turns. Would have been nice to have a medal and am not sure the "teal" t-shirt is me ! I saw a mile marker marked 12M but I am sure I ran only 10, or suddenly I am a much better runner than I thought (unlikely) - so if anyone ran with a GPS pls post what they think the distance was. Thks.

In short: A let down on previous years, but fun
In full: Hobbit Matt has got it slightly wrong when he mentions about getting lost on the course but I wish him well. The fact is after about 7 miles when your eyes are popping out and you've your eyes on your footing, then, well..overall there just wasn't enough direction! Great race as always, though, but other years have been better. Will be back!
