In short: A good challenge
In full: Well organised as usual by Finch Coasters, this is a very straight forward race round a challenging course. It's a little different since the last time I ran it, with a lot less mud and single-track running, but the new course is better for racing and the hills remain, and that's what makes this an interesting challenge. Don't come here to run a PB, come here to test yourself on something different in a very pleasant environment.

In short: Well organized, low key series of off-road Wednesday evening races
In full: A short loop, followed by two laps of a longer loop gives you a chance to see if you can find a better line through the mud, and run a bit further up the hill the second time round. Well worth turning out for.

In short: A race of pros and cons
In full: Ok, pros of this race

- Cheap, only £6 I think, or maybe £8
- Well marshalled, not the most talkative of marshalls but they did the job
- Interesting course
- You got just a number posted out, not even a map or on-the-day instructions

Cons

- Awful signposting - Had to talk to other runners lost in their cars before luckily tripping over the carpark
- 1 toilet for 400 people
- If you're into that kind of thing, you didn't get a piece of shiny or anything, just a glass of water at the end
- No distance markers

It had some right hard hills that really took some beating, and some of the single track was good, but there was a really long run of it, meaning you couldn't really overtake or slow down, which is a bit disconcerting.

I'd do it again, just to see if I'd improved on the hills.

In short: Nice, challenging mid-week off road series
In full: Nice, challenging mid-week off road series with friendly & well supportive marshals along the way - I managed to do all three. I`ll be back next year for some more. Thanks Finch Coasters.

In short: very club orientated but most seemed friendly enough - especially to the few stragglers!, Good use of the hills in the area a fun course.

In short: Good Running
In full: Only fault would be the 2 and a half lap format, in an ideal world a single circuit is best. But overall some nice paths and single track and a ggod undulating course. Entertaining !
