In short: Good fun, but not as muddy as last year!
In full: I LIVED this race last year - it was boggy EVERYWHERE, mud all over the place and lost trainers abounded. This year, it was not as boggy and the course was not as good. Last year we were hauled over the de-forested areas and traipsed through a lot more of the boggy woodland. This was shown this year by the loops we had to do at the end to make up the miles.

In fairness it was a nice one to do, but having done it twice now, I doubt I'll trudge all the way up to Glasgow to do it again next year. I'll try one of the other ones in the north of England and pray for rain!!

In short: excellent atmosphere and good course
In full: only thing that I was disappointed about was the lack of bogs etc compared to last year...having to wade through the trench of mud last year was good fun. A lot more tracks and less hills this year too. I was also dissapointed with the change in route because I was looking to beat last years time but cant really compare them.

In short: Awesome muddy mayhem of a race
In full: Fantastic race through the trails of Mugdock. Lots of mud, marsh and hills but great supportive atmosphere. Thanks to the 2 friendly guys who rescued me from the sinking mud abyss!! It's a pretty tough race and it took me around the same time as a half marathon, but would def recommend it. Brilliant goodie bag with technical tee :-)

In short: A gorgeous setting for a tough race. Loved it.
In full: I'll need to remember not to trust my Garmin quite so much. Put in my kick for the finish after nine miles as the event promised a ten mile course length. Oops. Actual length 11 miles! Hung on for the last mile though and even managed a smile as I was coming up for the line- eventually.

In short: Smashing atmosphere. Smashing fun. Excellent for first time trail runner.
In full: I've competed in a variety of different races & I've never come across such a great atmosphere between the stewards & runners before. Everyone was having a great time, helping others out in need & having a right good giggle on the way round. Highly recommended race.

In short: I was covered in mud and laughed more than I have in years!
In full: Well worth the trek over the border and the hotel room bill for this race. Well organised, great course with lots of challenged. Friendly bunch, everyone helping each other and having a laugh. The best 10 miles I've ever run/crawled/scrambled and will definitely be back for more. Great goody bag, with fantastic technical T which was worth the entry in itself!

In short: The most fun I've had from running event ever. A course that challenged but rewarded in equal measure. SO many memories about parts of th course. And some I'm sure to forget ahead of coming back next year.
