In short: Lovely race - very friendly - interesting rather than really tough!
In full: First time at this race. Really good organisation, loads of "facilities" in the tech college, no baggage or toilet queues!
Much better scenery than I thought, good views across the sea, and loved the climb into the woods, even second time round. Enough technical challenge in the single-track sections to keep focussed. Good crowd support, especially considering it was a bit nippy!
Thanks Weston AC, will be back!!!

In short: warm reception from the Weston crowds keeps cold at bay
In full: Hadn't done this for a couple of years and hadn't raced at all since October, so this was a welcome return to this race in particular and racing more generally. Good mixture of road and trail, although how about using that undulating trail that now runs alongside the toll road rather then the road itself? Might make it live up to the tough of the title a little more as this is in fact a good race for a wide range of runners irrespective of how much time they spend off-road. Great support from the crowds on the Prom despite the freezing cold.

In short: I have run this race three times and on each occasion it has been great fun. The course is challenging but the scenic views make up for the hills. The local support is great and friendly marshals. I well done to everyone involved.

In short: Great Day out with lots of hills and mud!!
In full: First time doing this race and given the title was not looking forward to it. Chilly morning, but nice and sunny, once got going all was good. Stairs at the first mile or so was challenging and a bit of a bottle neck, however, run to the woods part was good and then came the hill... Was very steep and difficult to walk up let alone run, however once at top was a good run back down to the road. Marshalls were very good and encouraging and water stop had plently of cups which helped and kept the road clear. Nice memento at end and will be back again next year. The only downside was the end part over the stones on the beach to the finish, but overall really well organised and worth doing.

In short: fantastic race in gorgeous location
In full: first time I've run it and fantastic event, the scenery is stunning and the marshalling and organisation excellent.
the 'tough' part is a steep climb up into the woods - which is repeated - and then two descents on muddy uneven stony paths - my first taste of a cross country type terrain race and only comment I'd like to make to improve the race info is that it says most runners do it in normal road shoes but I would have worn my off roaders to help with that muddly descent and the mile on the beach!

In short: Not so 'tough' just a gorgeous run!
In full: I was expecting something more along the lines of the Sodbury Slog (muddy fields, streams, etc) from its name, but it wasn't like that at all - some roads, some trails through the woods, a couple of muddy steeper climbs. It was great though! Gorgeous day, gorgeous scenery, really enjoyable run. I would definitely recommend it.
