In short: Best run ever and I doubt any trail can top those views!
In full: This was my second trail run and my only complaint is that I fear other trail runs will pale in comparison! The views are incredible and the cruise beforehand was a bit of a difference(though quite cold!). Well organised with the different sailings(walkers, non competitive runners & competitive runners). Would have liked to have water stations but the terrain made this virtually impossible. Great atmosphere and friendly marshalls and runners. Thanks to the man dressed as a fairy who stopped me falling and the gingerbread man for picking up my fallen belongings! I liked the way the commentator at the end read your number and name out as you came to the finish - a great motivator. Have booked straight on to the Spring Series and cannot wait! :-)

In short: A fantastic scenic trial run
In full: This was my first trail race and it was fantastic! The weather was perfect for running and the views over Ullswater were spectacular, although you cannot take your eyes from the ground for long. The hills were challenging and my legs ached for a couple of days after but hey - Wilf's piping hot bean stew, cake and unlimited tea was just the thing at the end. I loved this race and will definitely do it again.

In short: Second trail race, as in second part of dirty double - yay :o) - certainly as challenging as day before and I crashed proper hard on a slippery rock early on... but nothing was going to stop me!!!
In full: Mountains, lakes, fabulous people and a buzz that could last for a seriously long time :o)

Never a dull moment on this race, seemed a shame to tear the eyes away from the fabulous scenary but the foot falls needed a bit of care. Did come a serious cropper about 5K in but hopped up and onwards! Bruising still there nearly 2 weeks on... but hey it was soooo worth it when you get to chill the injury by standing in Ullswater at the end lol

Oh and the free bean stew at the finish was the best!

In short: One of my favourites!
In full: Second run of the Dirty Double!

The views on this run are no less than stunning - gorgoeus views over Ullswater :o)

Some tricky bits underfoot, and not the quickest 12k you'll ever run, but well worth the effort!!!

The steamer down the lake to the start at Howtown, while being serenaded, was a great way to start the race.... there was a superb photie included in the price of the race, with Ullswater and the surrounding hills as a backdrop.... and a superbly yummy hot meal afterwards too!

I love this run - brilliant atmosphere, superbly organised and amazing fun :o)

Roll on next year!!! *boing*

In short: Absolutely beautiful run. The highlight of my running year. Exceptional scenery and organisation. Lovely additional touches of steamer ride first and meal to finish. Fantastic.
