In short: welcoming for 1st timer to half marathons
In full: Fairly flat, would have appreciated more toilets at start. Had to resort to squatting behind bushes as queue for ladies loos too long and would not have made start time had I waited.
Medals had wrong year printed on it 2006, which was disappointing. However it was my 1st race and would not put me off entering again. Did it in 2.01 so thrilled

In short: Great day with good running weather
In full: PB for me 1hr 52mins 37secs(it's all important) , that on its own made it a fab day. Disappointed about the medal. Thanks to all Marshals. fab day

In short: Great race - only real gripe is the mile markers.
In full: PB'd here last year - disappointed to miss that by 11 secs this time. Good organisation and encouragement from the marshalls.

Not too sure about some of the gripes I've read - I heard announcements on the day saying they'd sort out medals, I also found water, free hot drink, and a stall selling snacks at the end. Excellent shower / changing facilities. IMHO I don't think you can expect organisers to provide energy drinks for a half. The body can store enough glycogen for 18-20 miles depending on how well you're trained so unless there's a big sponsor wanting to supply / pay for this then it would end up going on the entry fee.

Only gripe I'd agree with is mile markers towards the end. I allegedly set a 10-mile PB, then took 6:27 for mile 12, despite running the other 12.1 at an average 5:44/ml - something definitely not right there. Bit of a kick in the proverbials when I thought 1:15 was still on the cards at mile 11, but at the end of the day it probably didn't alter a lot - I just wasn't quick enough.

In short: My first halfie - glad I picked Wokingham
In full: The marshals deserve thanks for their valued efforts (as do the local constabulary who, I note with interest, have been overlooked in every review I've read thus far). Thoroughly enjoyed myself on this flat-as-pancake course. I daresay that the much-maligned bottleneck added a smidgeon to my time but I don't give a hoot - at 1:40:02 it's unlikely a minute or so would make my romping home to victory any more realistic. Lastly, having passed my medal on to my two and a half year old daughter I can vouch for her appreciation of it as well as my own, regardless of date.

In short: Good points: Fast & flat. Set a PB. Bad points: Mile markers from 11 to 12 were a long way out, bottle neck start .

In short: Well organised with a good atmosphere
In full: Lots of good points - especially the marshalling, the closed off roads, good local signposting to event, countryside route and good PB potential (I knocked 17 minutes off my first HM time). Only downsides were the congested first 1/4 mile or so, which takes a minute or so off your possible time, also water in cups was a bit pointless as I got less than mouthful of each glass - bit of an egg and spoon race. Apart from that all very very good.

In short: If you want a PB then they dont come much faster than this. Occasional climbs but nothing too serious.
