In short: A lovely day out on a sunny Bank Holiday Monday In full: A laid back event in a superb park. The route was along the Ribble and the tramway(shared by other events in the past) The rewards were generous and included an original medal and wicking t-shirt with water and energy drinks on completion.Do we need to thank the grocery sponsors? That the event started from a café was a bonus! The only fly in the ointment (to someone who was not conversant with Preston)was the parking and access to the Park. However this was soon sorted by the use of the multi-storey car park. This event is well worth supporting. Date of review: May 6, 2014
In short: Great race, great weather!! In full: Brilliant atmosphere, helped along by the brilliant weather, everything was well organised from registration to finish.
The route was challenging in places (esp the hill just before the finish!) The goody bag was good value with a nice medal, t-shirt, isotonic drink and candy :-))
My only little issue was that the final straight bit with about .5 mile to go was blocked up with non runners enjoying the park, they didnt appreciate we were trying to finish the race and I did come across two men who didn't like me trying to get round them, the dogs and the cyclist and stay on the path. Maybe some way of roping off a runner lane next year?? Wouldn't stop me doing the race again though
Good communication from Shane pre and post race. Great action photos from Lynn. Date of review: May 7, 2013
In short: Flat and fast In full: Good fast course although a bit uneven in places. I did hear that some people went off course although I don't see how with plenty of marshalls. Date of review: June 4, 2012
In short: Nice flat run traffic free In full: Nice way to liven up a Sunday morning, cheap and loads of car parking at football ground. Free stadium tour too to get to toilet!! Free sandwiches too Date of review: November 28, 2011
In short: Perfect little race. In full: This was one of my first ever races, 2 years ago, & I've done it 3 times now. Incredibly cheap, nice medal, fast, flat course, & nice little run round a park. The perfect first timers race, but still competitive at the front. Can't fault this one in any way. A classic Lord Shoestring race. Date of review: December 1, 2010
In short: My local park, couldnt be better! In full: I usually go running in this park. Actually this race was the reverse of my normal route so I enjoyed it all the more. I even got a medal which is always a bonus! Oh and that gate is never open at weekends! Date of review: November 29, 2010
In short: Fab race. Friendly & quick. In full: This was my second year doing this one. It really is a fun little race. Perfect as a first race too. Great value. Just £3, & butties & a drink afterwards too. And a great medal.
Not too much water on the course after all, after weeks of rain.
Great organisers & a nice atmosphere. Couldn't fault it. Date of review: November 23, 2009
