In short: Race with a tunnel In full: This is a unique run, as you spend 1.5miles of it in a tunnel. good atmosphere, and something a bit different. Date of review: October 28, 2010

In short: City centre through tunnel and along prom - hard to beat In full: First time I've done this and definitely one for the calendar. I had been warned about the climb out of the tunnel (which wasn't as bad as made out) and so took it easy going downhill so was fun to see people charging past on way down and then passing them on way out.
Only slight gripe was despite sponsoring the race and putting on free transport (which was great) merseyrail only seemed to run normal service and trains and platforms were packed.
Not the organisers fault though and otherwise it was excellent. Date of review: June 2, 2010

In short: something a bit different In full: i ran this in 06 and was very critcal of it just done it again and have to say they have sorted out the problems. very well organised, fast results the only crit is its a bit pricey but you do get free transport and a decent goody bag/momentos for your money
this is not a race i would target, although it is not as slow as some would make out. if your new to running, fancy something a bit different or want to stretch your legs a bit, you could do a lot worse.
well done run liverpool, now you have to keep this standard up Date of review: June 1, 2010

In short: Fun and friendly race In full: The tunnel is not as bad as people make out but the Promenade is always longer than I think! There were some grumpy marshals this year, but they were far out numbered by cheery ones and there is an excellent crowd at the finish. It might be worth adding some estimated time rallying points at the start, there were even more people this year who were clearly starting amongst the front runners who shouldn't have been and this caused problems for faster runners that got caught behind. I know this is a problem in all races, but at least approximate timings might help even it out a bit? Date of review: June 1, 2010

In short: As usual, a great atmosphere In full: After last year, I had been praying for cooler weather. Standing in Pall Mall with that freezing North wind whistling around I wasn't so sure.
Once on the move the conditions were fine and it was a relief to get out of the clammy confines of the tunnel. This was my third go at this event and managed my best time so very happy.
The finish area was very congested and would be improved by the introduction of some funneling. All handouts could be given while walking through the funnels and this would prevent anyone from claiming more than they were due (I can't believe some people would stoop so low as to deprive slower runners to satisfy their greedy selfishness but apparently it happened).
Huge thanks to Alan and all of his helpers and marshals. It was a great day - see you next year. Date of review: June 1, 2010

In short: Well done Run Liverpool - cracking event In full: The organisation of this race was superb. Right from free train to Liverpool, plenty of toilets through to t-shirt and medal.
The tunnel was great just to get out of the wind for a bit. The incline really isnt that bad and is over soon enough. Date of review: May 31, 2010
