In short: Good Race but has some faults............
In full: 2011 race 6th MARCH 2011. Great race as usual but did not understand why we were held at the start until nearly 12.15 for the 12 noon start after lining up from 11.15????? Plus - car park marshalls when people are leaving the circuit need to do something rather than stand and chat. Runners and their supporters were massing on a few exits with the usual chaos but no organisation ensued. The volunteers around the circuit were great and must have been frozen in the usual icy wind typical of Silverstone in March but the supporters were very quiet and unsupporting generally.... what a way to spend my 46th birthday but I did my fastest half and beat many runners who were much younger than me including Katie Price - a real ego boost......

In short: windy, cold, boring
In full: Good bits: bag drop and pickup quick.
Bad bits: took over an hour to get out of the car park. Not good with stiffening legs and when you just want to get home. Dull lonely kind of run. There are much much more atmospheric and scenic runs out there.

In short: 2nd race here in 3 years and worth the wait
In full: This race gave me a PB at the same course and I also ran with someone i was dating at the time so was nice to travel with her (and my aunt and uncle-who always support me at this course). This was to be the last time the old rickety bridge was used as the starting point and nostalgia kicked in once I also remembered it could be the final Grand prix if Donnington took over- as this is now 201o when writing this i know its not the case.

The course will never be easy as running on mostly tarmac is not great for the knees but i was prepared as had practiced on plenty of roads and cross country for added measure.

I did manage to start off well and ended with a PB OF 1:33 which took me by suprise. i did aim to run better in 2010 but sadly was even slower than 2007. I am now training for the great north run with aim of at least 1:33 if not sub 1:30

In short: I'm sure it will suit some people but not me.
In full: By far the least favorite of the races I've done. Running round a building site and 'hardcore' paths although sometime they had covered the stone with a metal plate.

Very windy, very boring. Never again.

In short: The Marmite Half - Love It Or Hate It!
In full: My 3rd Silverstone Half and I enjoyed the event again (apart from suffering from a cold). Very windy this time and building works meant a slight change of route.

Ok, it is a little boring in places but the organisers put on a good event yet again, well done.

In short: Apart from the wind was a great run.
In full: Would definately do again if not so far home and a real pain getting out of the car park. Got PB - broke 2 hours for the first time which was real bonus.
