In short: The Need for Speed
In full: The Reverse was along a new more scenic route this year but still remained fast and flat. Unfortunately due to the snow and rain the course along the Taff Trail was waterlogged and muddy, my nice new white trainers will never be the same colour again!

The race does exactly as it says on the tin, it is fast and flat and although sole destroyingly dull coming up the Treforest Industrial Estate from Taffs Well it was worth it as I smashed by PB by three and a half minutes.

In short: A grand day out...
In full: A nice cold morning in a snow capped Welsh valley, plenty of marhalls to point out the ice patches, loads of wet mud on the Taff trail to splash through, a nice t-shirt, although there wasn't many for those smaller runners amongst us, and (best of all) steaming hot showers at the!university sports facility.
Oh, and if you fancy a bit of sightseeing on your way home then you could do no better than driving a couple of miles up the road and visiting Caerphilly Castle.

In short: Still pretty fast but the 'scenic' route isn't an improvement.
In full: I've run this race for the last four years, always well organised, a fast course but personally I don't think the new improved 'scenic' course was an improvement. It made for a few more undulations - nothing taxing though. Main issue is the 3miles along the Taff Trail - wet and muddy underfoot with more of a feel of a cross country race than road. I'm not sure anyone will have particularly enjoyed those conditions. I much prefer the previous course, suggest it returns to it in 2011 or have the race in the summer months where the views can be enjoyed with better conditions under foot. A road race should be on road :-)

Goody bag - fine.
Marshalls - very good, plenty of them supporting along the route and warning of slippery/icy patches.

In short: Got my new Daps dirty, didn' I...
In full: Well organised, very friendly and no major problems. Could have been a lot faster but the conditions under foot for the first half of the race was quite wet and muddy, but this is Wales in February.
