In short: Stunning scenery, great organisation, mud. hills and snow
In full: Beautiful race but really tough. Huge hills. knee deep mud, snow, big puddles and freezing cold.
Great organisation though and a glass of fizz at the end. I would definitely do this again but not for the faint hearted.

In short: l I knew it was a challenge but never expected that...
In full: Entered because it covers all my most scary things, downhills and probable muddy bits, hate slipping. Never expected bloody snow! And was so far down the field, don't care for the glory but what a quagmire you all left... brilliant fantastic adventure. Loved it.

In short: 15 miles of proper cross country- and this year snow!
In full: 59th running of this classic 1 lap course taking in the sights, as well as mud and hills of Epping Forest.
Friendly and a glass of champagne for all finishers!

In short: oh that was beyond tough!
In full: Had I known how tough that was going to be I probably would not have done it! But I am glad I did, I naively thought that it would be on the paths that I have run on many times, not though muddy ditches up to my knees, I plodded round and decided to continue after JUST reaching the cut off by the skin of my teeth. Slow as I was I feel a huge sense of achievement, I would consider it again with a stepped up training regime. A GREAT event.

In short: Race like they do it in Siberia through the heart of Epping Forest
In full: Really enjoyed this but oh my it was tough. Muddy, cold, hilly and covered in snow, a pretty damn gruelling race.
However, also very beautiful in places, especially some forest sections where the snow hung on the trees like a real winter wonderland. If anyone has seen the episode of Band of Brothers where they are stuck in the forest during the Battle of the Bulge, well it was a bit like that!
Organised by good guys with nice fellow competitors, will look to do this race again next year.

In short: A lovely canter through the forest interrupted by mud (a lot) and hill (often).
In full: A cracking race. This year's race, by all accounts, was one of the muddiest and coldest. However, if you did manage to look around at the forest, it really was a beautiful scene.
The race is well organised and credit to Orion for getting it on in the incredibly cold and snowy conditions.
A very tough race but one I'd certainly do again.

In short: you thought last years run was hard???????
In full: I think that was the hardest 15 I've ever done, and for an essex boy made runs like the Benfleet 15 seem like an easy trot!

The mud!!!! the hills, the mud!!!! and all thru the most beautiful snow covered Epping Forest I've ever seen.

If you don't love this race here's no hope for any of us - Thank-you Orion Harriers, just brilliant!!

In short: hard, so hard
In full: a fantastic race, ridiculously hard and with a hill at 11 miles that most walked up but great fun and I can't wait to do it again next year

only criticism, as others have mentioned, it really could do with a slightly earlier water station. only having them at 9 and 12 miles is a bit late

In short: posts on the forum said the race was tough, they were right! cracking race mind
In full: I actually found this race tougher than the spitfire 20 mile run last weekend. Very well run event, great bunch of runners. My only minor complaint is that on a day so hot it would have been nice to have a water station at 5-6 miles.
