In short: Well run race, beautiful surroundings.. and a medal!
In full: I did the November 2011 Cotswold 10k, so was already prepared for this hilly course, which includes a 1km hill in the last quarter of the race.

This year I was impressed by the improvements. The starting point was further on, to allow for a circuit of the playing field before crossing the finish line. However, I did accidently run the wrong side of the barrier when entering the field for the final 200m! Jumping it at that level of exhaustion is tricky.

Due to the lovely morning sun and blue skies, the scenery was all the more stunning. Rolling fields, streams, and the odd lamb or two in the fields.

Unfortunately we were all warned quite formally during the race briefing that we could not use mp3 players for health and safety reasons, and that runners would definitely be disqualified if we ignored this rule. This is the first time I have ran in a race where we are so formally warned - so everyone obliged and ran without music. At first I was a bit gutted, as I was looking forward to the music, but in the end it did not matter. It was still a great race, and I bettered my November 2011 time by 4 minutes.

Everyone was very friendly, although being shouted at by one of the men directing traffic out of the car park was really not necessary. I didn't let that spoil the day though.

In short: A challenging 10k race in the heart of the beautiful cotswold countryside.
In full: A well organised run along some scenic country lanes with a couple of tough little climbs thrown in. Not one for a PB but a rewarding run all the same!

In short: Potentially fast end of year run
In full: No problems finding it if you look at the website. Largely flat course apart from one slight climb. Finishes in industrial estate with quite a walk back to church hall but no complaints - quite glad I went. No medals/mementoes but got home in time for footie results [duh].

In short: Will definitely be back next year
In full: Great race - I'd read a few reviews that said the organisation was dodgy - but I was nothing but impressed through registration, the briefing, the signing to the start (about 1km walk away), the marshalling, the signing around the race, the course... Will definitely return next year!

In short: Great run, but planning left a bit to be desired
In full: Couldn't fault the race itself, nice route, great marshalling and a good atmosphere. Started promptly, which was good as it was freezing! However, the postcode for the race HQ must have been wrong and even after emailing prior to the race to ask, as it seemed nearly two miles away on google, the organisers still didn't twig. The end result was 30 minutes wandering around a trading estate. If a very friendly fellow runner with a car who was also looking for the HQ hadn't picked me up and driven us to the start to ask where the HQ was I would have missed it. Also got the impression race numbers were supposed to be posted out but had to collect them. The web link from runnersworld also had a typo and had to be corrected, which may explain a limited turnout.

A nice friendly run and the organisers clearly tried, but a bit more attention to planning required. Thanks anyway, I enjoyed it and if next years planning is a bit more accurate I'll be back :-)

In short: Great 5 mile race
In full: Enjoyed this race a lot. Nice country roads with very little traffic. Excellent mile markers. Was difficult to find Head Quarters with post code given and start was about 6 minutes away from this and therefore was almost late. Nevertheless a really good race, very friendly crowd. Cheers

In short: Good enough event on a harsh day
In full: Main problem was that it wasn't well signposted coming from the south, I drove straight past the HQ and nearly missed the race a mile away where the GPS took me and several others.
Otherwise, small and friendly, quite flat course, lots of prizes and drinks in the chuirch after wards.

In short: Great course, low turn out does not do course or the organzers justice
In full: A new race series this year. Great mid week run to blow the cob webbs out. I recommend this race be nice to see more runners turn out.

In short: Good course, look forward to more
In full: Very low turnout - deserves more support, decent course with small 2 or 3 small hills but mostly flat and quiet.
No-one really told me that the start was 1km away from HQ, so nearly missed it!
Otherwise another great Gloucester event
