In short: Slower than previous years In full: I ran this after being ill for 3 weeks. very slow time. However, the changing, toilets and catering were slightly disappointing from the previous years, the start and finish were in different places. Could do the at least one energy drinks station. In short: I wanted to do it so much I even entered even though I wasn't fit In full: I didn't have a good experience at all at the Pewsey half this year. I am on the mend after a nasty attack of sciatica, and entered even though I knew I probably wouldn't finish it. In the end I had to drop out before I'd even reached the 3 mile marker.
But that should tell you everything you need to know about the event. I was desperate to do it because I love the event so much (all of PVRC's races, truth be told).
A lovely scenic run on the bank holiday weekend, a reasonable price, good organisation and a t-shirt at the end, and it's probably worth the trip for the cakes alone!
Thanks to the organisers and the St John's Ambulance guys who looked after me and took me back to race HQ. It was still worth the trip out.
Hopefully see you next year in a state to actually complete and enjoy the race properly! Date of review: September 2, 2010

In full: I love this race, the marshalls are incredibly supportive and there was not one who didnt give some words of encouragement. The scenerery is lovely, water stops frequent and well signed posted giving you time to take a gel. I'd forgotten how long some of the hills were which gives the distance an added challenge. Best bit THE CAKE. Looking forward to next year already. Well done Pewsey Vale Date of review: September 1, 2010

In short: Perfect In full: To the organisers - please resist the temptation to change anything. It was perfect. I'll certainly be back next year. Date of review: August 31, 2010

In short: Never mind the perfect scenery and the faultless organisation just come along next year for the tea and cakes. Outstanding (and good value too). In full: Love this race. Third consecutive year and I'm already looking forward to the next years event. Organisers coped wonderfully with this years building works and the organisation on the course was spot on. Thanks to all at Pewsey Vale RC. Date of review: August 30, 2010

In short: Great value for money, not the easiest of runs but a PB is possible, despite the incliness! In full: Great run, first time I have done the Pewsey half but I'm coming back next year! Set my new PB which was fabulous!
The best thing is it was great value for money, and it was a smallish crowd which is much friendlier.
Marshalling was very good, organisation was good, plenty of parking, nice little area to shelter in before the start of the race with coffee/cakes to buy
The only thing is the drivers on the road - some were driving way too fast. Some runners didn't help themselves either by running in the middle of a narrow road when it was obvious cars would be coming - some speeding too.
The ban of personal listening devices wasn't a big of a problem thatn I thought - the beautiful scenery definitely made up for it. Spotted 2 of the white horses on the hills!
Pretty challenging course in that there were some decent long but not steep inclines, most done by mile 4 but smallish ones post mile 4.

In short: Lovely views, few hills, really friendly atmosphere, gorgeous cakes In full: Great low key race, really good supportive atmosphere between runners, friendly, encouraging marshalls. Challenging course made harder by a head win, long climb around 4 miles and a few smaller climbs around 10 and 11 or was that just my legs getting heavy? Date of review: August 29, 2010
