In short: Lovely run across the North Downs.
In full: A well organised race starting in Denbies wine estate with plenty of Marshalls and three water/gel stations.

Lots of encouragement from the marshalls who were very friendly as well as a few locals dotted around the course. The only gripe I have (and this is personal taste) is that there was a bit too much tarmac. It was otherwise a great day good value for money with a nice race T-shirt at the end too.

In short: First time I've been given a posy of flowers during a race :-)
In full: This is a hard 10 miler and my goal was to try and run as much of it as I could - which I did (apart from one very small section towards the top of a hill - had to stop to open a gate and couldn't get going again). Marshals were very supportive and encouraging as were passerbys - but the highlight was being given a posy of flowers at about the 5 mile mark by a little girl and being told "I deserved the best prize". Made my day and I proudly carried them all the way, with a big smile on my face.

In short: Challenging but excellent fun/massocism - not sure which
In full: Round about the 2, 3 mile mark I was thinking it was going to be a long day but fortunately the relentless climbing stopped. This is significantly harder than 10 miles on the flat but great views and a god friendly spirit among the runners.

In short: Hilly, fun, stunning and extremely well organised as ever.
In full: Don't expect a PB this is a tough race. It's pretty much uphill for the first 4 miles. Brilliantly organised, friendly and encouraging marshalls. It's a challenge but very rewarding particularly the last mile and a half which is all downhill to the finish. Great fun I would thoroughly recommend this. Oh yes and the scenery I just stunning!

In short: nice run, family friendly, no distance markers.
In full: Having previously ran Denbies 10k 2 years ago and 10 miler last year was a bit disapointed this year.I ran the 10k, no distance markers which is very poor, seperate finish round vines on undulating ground not ideal. Perhaps too many races over complicated it,hence numbers down, stick to either 10miler or 10k rather than 1/2 do both.
Family had tea and cake in denbies whilst I ran.
T shirt was good and everyone friendly. Could be great event with a few tweaks

In short: Beautiful place, excellent though tricky run and very friendly marshals. Tough to start with but a 'good feeling' finish and well worth the 1 hr drive on such a nice sunny day.

In short: More rewarding than most
In full: I ran the 10 mile race and all I can say is "what a fantastic event!".

I don't know if it was due to the difficulty of the course but the lack of runners was a real disappointment and if you weren't there you missed out on a fab day.

THE COURSE
The first 1.2 miles is ALL uphill! Having said that I took it really easy and it was no big deal as long as you weren't expecting a PB. The rewards for this hill are the spectacular views from the top. The other reward is the fact that you have to come down that hill at the end so you get a chance to sprint like crazy for nearly 2 miles!

It was a little tricky in places due to the uneven ground but that's what makes it more of a challenge and adding all these things together you really feel like you have had a good all round workout (hills - good for leg strength, uneven ground - good for ankle strength, downhill - good for practicing speed!).

There were 2 or 3 water stops around the course with gels as well as water available. My only gripe here is that they could have done with a couple more water stops in the second half of the course and get rid of the first one.

ORGANISATION
No complaints - everyone was very friendly and there were plenty of signs for the bag drop, race start, etc.
The car park was a good 10 minute walk away but you get to walk through the grape vines
to get to the registration area - it felt like being in Italy!

GOODY BAG
A great technical Tee (more useful than a medal IMO), a Mars Bar, plenty of Ribena.
Apparently the Mars Bars ran out but tbh they had melted in the sun anyway so I threw most of mine away!

There was the option to have a massage for a donation to charity at the end too.
I took some video on my phone and will upload to Youtube at some point and post a link.

CONCLUSION
I loved it and whilst you are not going to get a PB the setting and views more than make up for it. I'll be there again next year.

In short: World-class scenery and organisation makes this a race to remember
In full: I entered the 10 mile option. It was the most amazing race with a fantastic family friendly atmosphere. My wife and kids came along and had a brilliant time. Race is very tough, with two huge elevation climbs, but well worth the effort. Brilliant volunteers showing you the way and giving you a welcome boost all the way round. Well done to the organisers and all who helped. Will definitely be back next year.

In short: great run, fabulous scenary, bad finish & expensive
In full: ow!what a run! the route is awesome - hard hard hills & fabulous downhills. Plenty of water & much appreciated jelly babies
downside - there might have been something at the end for those who were faster than 10min mile on tough course but nothing for the slower runners - choclate had run out (??!!?) & no small shirts & a rude helper dishing out large shirts -'how should they know how many to order & it's not my fault if the faster runners take all the chocolate" I was told. For £20 in advance this is disgraceful. Done to discourage slow runners I suppose!!
