In short: Loved it!
In full: I had this race recommended to me and I can see why now! Challenging, beautiful, hilarious, fantastic fun!! Loved the rivers and the hippos! Thanks to all the brilliant marshalls and for the jelly babies and cakes at the end. I'll definitely do this one again and recommend it to everyone I know.

In short: did everyone finish with half the river bed in their pants,or was that just me?
In full: The first two miles were tough, the tracks up the hill seemed never ending. But then it was off down the hill, I couldn't have stopped if I had wanted to!The big puddles and river crossings were lovely and soothing for my tired legs. It was very rough under foot,my ankles are rather sore the following day. loads of friendly marshals and organisers, well done, I hope you raised lots of dosh.I drove home very happily, despite my soggy bottom!

In short: Hills & a few shoe washes
In full: Big mistake wearing trail shoes as the course was dry - This is a first I gather. The river crossings plus bog were as usual my type of fun. The long hill after the first wood was never ending. I enjoy hilly runs but this was a severe test. A big relief to find the second half flat in comparison to the first half. A must do for those who like testing runs

In short: What goes up also comes down & a swim included
In full: Glorious run through the hilly Devon countryside including the opportunity to have several paddles. Thanks to the friendly marshalls - I thought they were shouting for me at one stage then realised the local I was with had the same name! Special thanks at the last river crossing to the chap who pulled me up the bank. One of my all time favourite races.

In short: Oh my giddy aunt!
In full: Well, I entered this because the cute name attracted me. Big mistake! I am not a hills person, so this race was realy not for me. It just went up and up and up. Then sharply down before going up and zig-zaggy again. I would have been happy to have died at times!

However, if you like hills, I would recommend it. The scenery was stunning, and running through the beech woods in the dappled light was lovely. The marshals were excellent and very encouraging, and Marie, the sweeper was great. Sorry I couldn't finish with a floruish, Marie, I had nothing left to give.

Loved the 2 hippos in one of the water features - but I seem to be the only one who saw them - was I hallucinating?

Loved the free tea and stickies at the end, too, oh, and the lovely towel, too. Loved lots about it, it's just not my sort of terrain.

In short: Brilliant. Hills, hills, water, hills, mud, hills, water, mud, tea, cakes.
In full: Excellent well-run race. Nasty terrain in places but exactly what we were told to expect! Very friendly. The 'easier' second half took the sting out of the first half (did I mention the hills?). Wallowing good fun.

In short: Someone somewhere has an evil mind.
In full: This race started with an offroad uphill slog. By the end of which I vowed never to run again. Then came the water and the mud and the silly notes. I loved this race and finished laughing.

In short: Absolutely brilliant - 24hrs on and I'm still smilling.
In full: The marshals were superb. Being the rear of the hippo was an honour and I'm so pleased we all made the farmers day with our lovely behinds as he waited patiently for us all to pass. Then there was the marshall that had been stood for so long he had named his plot and welcomed us to Primrose Corner as we approached nearing the top of the first long climb, it was more aptly named Gods Garden because we'd climbed that high, but what a view.

Fantastic water obstacles, great fun.

This was by far the best event I have ever taken part in. Varied, interesting and challenging.
