In short: Well organised, good crowd, nice event In full: My wife ran this last year and came back again this year, she loved it! time boards were missed, she was after a PB and only just missed it because of the slower runners. BUT A GREAT EVENT INDEED Date of review: June 6, 2010
In short: A great event for Newbies & Returners who've taken a break. In full: I ran this in 1999-2002, so was quite nervous having not run a "proper event" for so long. I really liked the new route, which I'm sure was kinder to the legs than the old section along the prom & climb up towards the end. One point I'd make in terms of other comments about the tiolet queues is that people where politely queueing whilst being unaware that there were empty tiolets further along the blocks? Maybe it would be quicker/helpful to suggest there's 1 queue for each block, rather than 1 long queue? Date of review: May 11, 2010
In short: Length? In full: I did the 5k as I needed that distance for a club competition, but I am not sure it was the full 5k. It was a bit strange that the route on the day was different than that which was sent out with the race packs (and that had been on the website for months before hand), although I have done several Run Liverpool events where the route is different on the day. My Garmin (which is very accurate) measured it as 4.77km. TThe 1, 2 and 3 km markers were spot on but 4 was not. Date of review: May 10, 2010
In short: Loely course - loely morning In full: My second Run Liverpool event and thoroughly enjyed it. Good marshalling & directions around the course.Didn't have to queue too much for the loos & nice goody bag at the end. Weather was perfect for the run. Only small grip was with the warm up - the ladies doing it were good but all a bit quick - not being an aerobics class person I did suffer a bit with the changes. All in all a good race - will be back next year. Date of review: May 10, 2010
In short: Another good race at sefton park ,weather brilliant.Shame there wasn't any more stall there ,timeboard wasn't very good though .toilets weren't very clean, good side though didn't have to queue up.D In full: On the whole not a bad morning t-shirts were funny sizes though wide but short never mind. Also pity it took us half an hour to get off the field suppose that was due to only one way out, never mind will be back next year for more . In short: great for a first timer like me In full: I only started runnning in March. This was my first race ever and I am proud to say that my time was 1.21.17...some people could have got round twice in that time but i don't care. Come on not all of us have been running for long. I was quite near the front to start and loved it. I found the atmosphere here for a non runner very encouraging. I wasn't in it to win it...to be honest i'm aching like hell now, but you know I can't wait to do it again... Date of review: May 9, 2010
In short: Very well organised as usual and good atmosphere but annoying about no time board at the start In full: I did this race for the first time last year and came back for more. It was very well marshalled and organised and a nice fun atmosphere.
There are a nice mix of runners of all different ages and abilities HOWEVER, I have to agree with SpaceCoyote - there were no time board this year, which was my real gripe and a large number of women walking the majority of the course. I am not particularly fast and was realtively near the front at the start, but found myself tripping over people and nearly having accidents weaving through the large numbers of very slow people. As already said I think it's great so many people do the race, especially for charity, and alsos understand that loads of people need to stop every now and then, but it is really hard when there are *quite* so many people walking on what is meant to be a run. If time board were back next year and a point was made about them I think it would be a massively improvement.
After all that, I did really enjoy it. It's where I do most of my training but was a nice, varied and flat route and a much better course than last year. Date of review: May 9, 2010
In full: I have been doing this race for 10 yrs and it has varied on organisation. I didnt see any time markers at the beginning and I have always found them useful. It is a beautiful park and the atmosphere is great. Date of review: May 9, 2010
