In short: Was my first ever half and unfortunately it was a good 25 Celsius so the four water stations weren't enough. Other than that first half was hilly rest was great :)

In full: Nice rural race and a local race for me. Few undulations and lovely scenic route. Great atmosphere amongst the runners, plenty of fun runners and fancy dress gave it a good feeling. Plenty of water stops and nice race course finish although ground was not good underfoot. Value for money well done St Michaels!

In short: Fantastic scenery, good local support, traffic a bit challenging
In full: Stayed at the Premier Inn next door to the start which was excellent and super convenient. Start a bit casual, straight onto dual carraigemway with controlled traffic. After that traffic trying to pass runners (esp those nearer the back - ahem..) all the time. A bit stressful on narrow lanes with little space, but all very pretty. Big hill at the beginning then a couple more smaller ones but mainly undulating. Other runners very friendly, finish support made me feel like I was running down the Mall!! Would prefer a medal to a Tshirt but its all for charady so OK. PB by 6 mins so well chuffed.

In short: Great Race.. Well worth the 100 mile round trip..
In full: Enjoyed this race, had everything you wanted for a very reasonable price. Great to warm up on running track before race. Uphill for first 3 miles which sortrd out field, then undulating, before the last 4 miles flat/downhill. warm down on running track and able to shower and change.. This race has no frills but is well worth the money. Would highly recommend and have to fellow club members.

In short: Good hilly race, basic but enjoyable
In full: Hills for the first three miles, then a couple more towards the end, bark for the last 400 metres which slows you down, t-shirt for finishing but no banana or snacks which is a shame because I was in need of something after those hills. The traffic isn't bad, worth the 400 mile round trip.

In short: Dit what it said on the tin! Got a PB :-)
In full: Scenic run, with first 6-7 miles rise and fall - what I expected really. Managed a PB so very happy. Organisation at start could have been better - it seemed to happen by accident but thoroughly enjoyed it. As for the bark - it was the same for everyone so get over it.

In short: Great day!
In full: This was my 18th Hereford Half and is one of my favourite events. No pretentions,no big names,no massive crowds just a bloody good hard run.
There are some major issues now with the traffic and inparticularly with those drivers who think they own the road!
The t shirt was not good!
Who cares, this race is about running and nothing more.Long may it continue!

In short: Relaxed race, friendly, doesn't take itself too seriously
In full: I enjoyed this. Not one to do if you are super-serious about times but challenging enough to be a decent test. The organisation was relaxed but I was fine with that. The start was even casual enough to allow a guy running with a pushchair to be right at the front - he was quick though!

The route involved crossing some roads that were moderately busy and a few more marshalls wouldn't have gone amiss but for the most part this was quiet country lanes.

The end was parallel to the race course on a path newly laid with bark. I see other reviewers were annoyed by this - all I could think was 'great, this will slow the others down, I'm going for a sprint finish', which I duly did.

I'd be happy to return. Low entry fee meant there was no real goody bag to speak of but who needs that crap anyway.

In short: A good local race, welcoming and supportive
In full: A thoroughly good local race, very welcoming and supportive. Gently undulating rather than hilly and quite a fast course. Lots of cheerful support all the way round. Traffic not really an issue if you are used to running on country roads - drivers generally patient and supportive. Had a really good day and will be back. Also great for my family to come along and support - good venue.
