In short: My first muddy race and we've all booked to go back next year
In full: As I was sitting there with my leg in plaster I though... I need some motivation to get back on it, so I found the Wild Thing, convinced a couple of friends it would be awesome and we've not stopped smiling since! We've booked to go back next year and added the March race too, plus we've over doubled in team size. We paid extra and got the hot showers although to be fair it took a couple of showers to get everything clean again, the tanker and hose off was perfectly adequate :-)

In short: Could do better
In full: It was very well organised, any problems I had were due to not doing my research. However, to have a wave start and not let people know their start time until less than a week before was not adequate. I could have taken a train down in the morning and saved the cost of a hotel if I had known. The best thing about this type of event is how people help each other over the obstacles. There was a wide mix of abilities, When we could actually run, I was flying by my standards. It is special but there are a lot of these wannabe Tough Guys and although I'll do the ones I've entered, I want to get back to real running. I accept that there are a lot of costs in staging an event like this but £35 for a goody bag that just contained a bottle of water and a Mars bar (plus T-shirt) is a bit steep.

In short: Wet and muddy fun!
In full: Hard but fun. 75m open water swim a bit of a shock but sort of fun once I got over the cold! Lots of mud and obstacles, everything very well organised, good t shirt (although girls shirt was on the short side - think all the girls in my team went for the man's version). Completed this as a team of 10 mixed ability but we all stayed together and had a blast! Worth the 3.5 hour drive to get there, can we have some more events further south please XRunner?? :-)

In short: Great Fun!!
In full: First adventure race for me and loved it, great fun and will be back.

Very dissapointed that the lads got tech t-shirts and the girls only got vests. Not fair at all!!

In short: Awesome fun, don't think it was 10k though, more like 9 but you don't do it for the distance you do it to finish with a big smile on your face!
