In short: Quick but organisation needs improving
In full: This is 2-lap course passed industrial estates & non-descript houses, so there’s not much to look at but it’s flat & fast. There is one draw-back however - it’s along busy roads which aren’t traffic free which called for a haphazard, virtually rolling start! There’s restricted parking too, but at least there’s toilet, changing & shower facilities in the sports complex. It cost £10 to enter and all we got was a coaster, so not good value for money. To make matters worse it was unfortunately an uncomfortably hot morning so the organisers had to improvise a water station too. This has definite PB potential, but regrettably circumstances conspired against me on the day.

In short: A good, fast, flat race let down by bad organisation.
In full: It was a very hot day and there was not enough water. I kept expecting to find a water station around the next bend but no, nothing til half way, where I had to stop, ask and wait for a drink.

The start of the race was a mess, nobody seemed to know what was going on, and the end was equally bad—a long queue with a lot of very dehyradted runners unable to get a drink (thank you to the runner who walked down and gave us some water, legend!).

Having said that I would probably return, the course has great PB potential—they just need to plan better next year.

In short: Badly organised race - lack of water, no clear start, queue over finishing line & often playing chicken with traffic
In full: Race conditions were extrememly hot - and whilst this wasn't something the organsiers could do anything about - the water station was poorly equipped & thimble amounts of water were being given out. A race of this size in my opinion calls for the roads to be closed - marshalls often pushed us out into the traffic & junctions weren't always covered (I nearly got run over at a petrol station!) There was also a queue to get over the finishing line & because of this you were waiting along time to get water.

In short: Too hot! Had to queue for almost 2 mins to get water at end. On such a hot day this could have been better organised

In short: A run of the mill road race at best. Thanks to the marshalls, organisers etc though.

In full: Marked this race down because of organisation - I have no probs with the marshalls who did a fantastic job and were very encouraging.
My gripe is that I booked this race via this website and it's advertised as an 11 am start. I arrived just before 10am to see the runners lining up for the off. Didn't have any time to warm up etc and started about 10 mins late.

I booked this race in March. Can't understand how nobody at Salford spotted the error.

I did not receive any joining instructions, just an email to say I would get my number on the day. I'm a relative newbie, if I were more experienced I'd probably have thought to ring/email the club secretary to confirm details. I shall certainly do this in the future.
