In short: Absolutely fantastic scenery. Nice and small event as well, great community feel.
In full: Beautiful run through woodlands and across fields. However quite a lot of hills that are impossible to run up (could have been due to the fact it was 27 degrees as well). I came in the bottom 20 but there were still all the previous finishers there cheering us on, really friendly atmosphere.

In short: Very Hilly but very fun great atmosphere
In full: My first 10k race, so a PB for me, but the steep hills mean a PB on this course is very unlikely! The route is scenic and is well marshalled. A great Atmosphere and a very fun race.

In short: up and down, up and down, and up and down again
In full: I don't think there is any flat on this course, so this is a must for anyone looking for a challenging, hilly 10k. No chance of a PB (unless you've never run a 10k before, of course), but that's not the point. It's a great off-road run through some lovely Somerset countryside and the bottle of chilled cider in place of a medal at the end was inspired!

In short: Tough as nails course but still a great day out.
In full: Great organisation made for fun day out. Very tough course (no chance of a pb but it's hard to compare XC courses) made all the harder today due to the heat. 2 water stations including one with jelly babies was very much appreciated (and needed). Mostly offroad mixed terrain with some roads and 'kissing' gates added to the spice. A small ford less than 1k from the end was a welcoming dip for my hot feet! No medal but instead a bottle of local cider (might not last as long as a medal but tastes so much better!). Not much in the way of facilities with only toilets and a small cafe but this is not a problem as notice was clearly given on entry forms.
One of the best local races I have ever entered and one I will come back to again. Well done Chard Running Club.

In short: No chance of a PB, but a race worth running!
In full: We thought it would be tough- and we were right! There are 2 hills which are IMPOSSIBLE to run unless you are either an elite athlete or a mountain goat! Very exciting, but you need to add 10 minutes (minimum!!!) to your normal 10k time. Overall, a brilliant race and we would DEFINITELY be putting ourselves through the same unnecessary discomfort next year!
