In full: Just a small comment for those that were concerned about cost, and that is the charity aspect of this race is a strong element, and thanks to the kind sponsorship of the event which covers the basic costs, every penny of every entry fee will be going to Surrey Air Ambulance - this year's Charity - This year we hope to have raised over £4000, Date of review: May 7, 2013

In short: Well organised and scenic local event – tricky surfaces In full: This race had the feel of a friendly local event, but the organisation was far from amateur.
The course was scenic and distinctly “undulating”. The route was dry but it was obvious that with different weather it could be very muddy. A combination of uneven surfaces (in part due to the bridleways – not surprisingly – having been used by horses) and stony / flinty sections made it necessary to keep a good eye on the ground much of the time and thus not get full benefit from the course being scenic. Risk of spraining an ankle is the reason I may not do it again.
There was good signposting throughout (plenty of arrows, and distance markers at each Km) and as many friendly marshals as you could possibly wish for. There was bottled water at about 3K and 7K and at the finish.
A little expensive for a 10K, but in compensation a better than average goody bag – and the surplus was going to good causes.
A good course for spectators as the route when close to the start / finish area at about 2K and 8K. Car parking was right beside the start.
To nit pick, it was the evening of the next day before the results were sent by email (and the morning after that they were still not on the website). And thanks to a rubbish spring there was no sign of the bluebells in the race’s name – but even I am not harsh enough to blame the organisers for that!

In short: Beautiful off-road race In full: Great run in glorious countryside. Very laid back organisation, easy parking. Calling out everyone's name as they finish was a nice touch. Could do with the race results being posted on-line a bit quicker, but thats my only complaint. Date of review: May 7, 2013

In short: Lovely sunny woodland trails In full: Very well organised, beautiful scenery, friendly marshalls and a good goody bag at the end. A few ups but some great long gentle downs. Add to that easy parking (20m from start) and a family feel and it's a top race. Date of review: June 22, 2012

In short: The organiser had clearly put a lot of time and thought into making this a fantastic race. I could not fault the organisation and marshalling and stunning course. I will be back next year! Date of review: June 19, 2012

In short: Varied course and the weather turned out nice! In full: Very friendly, well organised and well marshalled run with a very varied field. Sure there wasn't 400+ runner though. Course had quite a few narrow bits due to the mud and some of the mile markers (thought it was a 10k!) were missing. Very varied under foot too - grass, mud, flint, sand, all sorts. Overall a good and enjoyable morning - and to think I could have had a lay in with breakfast in bed; twas Father's day after all! Ps Hope the cyclist was okay. Date of review: June 17, 2012

In short: Cross country, muddy and very generous and useful goody bag contents In full: This was my first cross country attempt and it was quite tough with hills, mud, and stones. Did it in 54 mins but the course was bit short from 10k. The goody bag was very good for £15, very useful runners food and drinks, the best I ever had even beats the over £50 events. Gold Medal was ok. A challenging run but I would come back again next year better trained for hills and mud. Date of review: June 19, 2011
