In short: One for next year - the weather cannot be worse! In full: An excellent race that is highly recommended. Challenging route over the Mendips, well marshalled and great cakes afterwards. What more could you ask for?
A very big thank you to the organisers and the marshalls, we runners had it easy compared with the weather conditions they had to endure. Date of review: June 13, 2011

In short: Last year it was sunny. This year freezing, windy and driving rain - certainly a challenge! In full: The weather on top of the mendips could not have been worse. Driving rain, at times horizontal, howling wind and cold - in June! In places mud up to your ankles and despite this I understand from the organisers entries on the day out numbered entries in advance. Date of review: June 13, 2011

In short: Excellent way to spend a sunny sunday in June. In full: This is definately as described on the tin! Very rugged and a challenge - forget PB at this event as it will not happen unless of course this is the only 10k event you ever do! When you get to the top of the mendips the views are stunning. Overall event run really well by the local running club with the Cheddar Lions. Will definately do this one again. Date of review: June 29, 2009

In short: Great event, well organised, would do it again. Thanks. In full: This was the first off-road event I have done and I entered it with view to seeing how I would enjoy it. This was a very well organised event, the scenery was great and I enjoyed running off-road, lots of different terrains. Plenty of marshals and the one water stop proved to be enough (with the message not to throw bottle anywhere but by a marshal), if it was hotter I may have needed another one. The added benefit of a shower after the event was welcome. I would definitely do this again. Thanks to organisers and marshals, a great day. Date of review: June 28, 2009

In short: First Class - Bring on 2010! In full: I didn't realise until this morning that this was the very first Rugged 10, and I thought it was great. The Lions Club did a sterling job, all very organised, unlike me who took a chance entering on the day! You won't get a PB chugging round the Mendips, but the lovely scenery more than makes up for it, and showed me that enjoying the day is far more important than chasing a fast time around some dreary urban route. The atmosphere was very friendly, and despite the challenging terrain, it wasn't one of those 'clubby' races (which I hate!), and most people seemed to be out to have a good day rather than for a PB. I hope this race is on again next year, I'll be recommending it to my friends. Date of review: June 28, 2009
