In short: Good fast race route, bit muddy on the day
In full: Did this race for the first time. Route was along canal towpath, flat and fast. On the day there were lots of puddles and it was muddy in places. Due to narrow path could be problems overtaking - though that wasnt a problem for me - went off too quick and worked my way backwards. Defintely worth doing again though, well organised and good value.

In short: First 2k muddy and narrow. That aside I took 2 minutes off my pb so cannot complain.

In short: Muddy & Narrow
In full: A flat course with good PB potential IF it is not wet as the paths get very very muddy and you find yourself jumping over the large puddles. The first 2k requires a very fast start or you are running at the pace of the guy in front due to the narrow path. Todays race was more cross country than road race. All credit to Springburn Harriers for making the event so worthwhile given the muddy conditions.

In short: Quite fast, muddy and flat- very congested for first 2k
In full: If you want a fast time, which i reckon is possible, try to get a faster than usual start or else you will get fenced in by other runners for first 2k. not much easy opportunity to overtake. Otherwise really well organised, nice gift and snacks at fi nish, friendly atmosphere and decent facilities. Would do it again.

In short: Great race and relaxing but fun - how do they do it
In full: Really enjoyable scenic race round the canal and the wintry but dry day made it quite scenic too. Does anyone know if it started at 2:30 or later, cos it would help my time! Only query is why no memento as most races manage it at that price...

In short: flat race with good pb potential if weather allows!
In full: Enjoyed run - running along the canal allows you to get your rhythm going. Can be a bit congested at the start. This year the weather was against pbs but previous cool still days in January make this a good race to start the year with.

In short: Wild and windy, muddy - but friendly and fun; well done to the marshalls who kept us going - glad I did it.
