In short: Scenic, hilly and competitive
In full: Course runs from Keswick School over the suspension bridge and through Portinscale and then a loop through the Newlands Valley before heading back through Portinscale and back to the start. A lot of club and fell runners made this a fit and formidable looking field, and as a relative beginner I felt a little out of my depth at registration!
The course itself takes in some killer inclines, and some fast downhill sections, all with the glory of Catbells and Skiddaw mountains as a back drop: inspiring scenery when you can see it throug hthe drizzle!
Excellent marsahlling and organisation meant it all went off like clockwork.
Entry fee for non-affiliated was a little steep considering all you get is race entry and a cup of tea at the end - but still a race I'd like to do again to improve my time!
