In short: The hill is not that bad!
In full: Great local race - I would definitely do it again. The first 5k is very fast, but the 'hill' (which is not that bad) does take it out of you a bit.

In short: Mug up on the course beforehand
In full: Will pace the race better next year. Fun and well marshalled. Could have done with a few mopre runners though getting through the gates might have been an issue.

In short: A hill which required a ski-lift but otherwise nice....
In full: Friendly 8K out and back cross country. The hill at 3miles is a bit steep and slowed most people to a walk. Fun in the sun....

In short: much better than last year - worth turning up for.
In full: I was not sent the wrong way (which happened last year) and had quite a lot of fun. Organisation much improved and the marshalls are all due some praise for standing out in the rain.

In short: marshall sent us the wrong way!
In full: No distance markers. marshall sent a pack of us the wrong way - I had to navigate our way back after a km or two in the wrong direction!

In short: Nice friendly little race - great for first timers
In full: Nice touches on race day were tea (for fending off the chilly wind) and the races for the kids. One major grump from my (faster) other half was the lack of marshalls. He got lost along with the leaders at couple of times, not great for either an accurate time or motivation! Problems were sorted by the time I got there which meant my experience was a lot more pleasant than his. Nice little trail course with hills which made it interesting
