In short: Superb experience
In full: This was a 'Run for All' so I dont understand why some have been critical about the walkers and slower runners. This was an event that brought together the more serious runners with those that were novices and those that have probably never put on a pair of trainers before entering the event. It was inspiring to so so so many people and as a resident of York I noticed that there were (and still are) more people out running and obviously training for this event.

the day itself did have its issues such as the late start but the atmosphere, superb marshalls, the smooth finish line, the bands and stalls at the end more than made up for the hiccup at the start.

In full: The organisation at the start needs to be improved, but overall this was a pretty decent race on a flat course around York. Plenty of cheering spectators and good all round atmosphere certainly helped the motivation!

In short: Everyone llined up, ready to run for 9am then endured 25 minute delay. Not good at all. Other than that - good race. Some sections a bit narrow.

In short: For the City of York-about time!!!
In full: As a former resident of York there were a lack of races that you could enjoy in York therefore I was very pleased to hear about this race.

I realise the majority of the race fee was going towards worthwhile charities but this was steep, especially for a 10k.

The organisation at the start was a little confusing to say the least as the race was delayed by 20 minutes without announcement. There were far too many walkers at the front of the start and at times the faster runners were scrunched up which does suggest that runners of lesser abilities should be marshalled toward the back.

The race itself was pleasant taking in sights for what York is famous for as well as riverside paths going into the city as well as returning to the finish. There was considerable crowd support along the course as well as adequate drink stations, which were needed and welcoming.

The finish was better organised and you received a nice tee shirt, if they were on the snug side, I must say!!!

Well supported and the odd improvement here and there could make this into a fantastic race experience, but good for a first try!!!

In short: Great scenery, friendly, fun - and totally inspiring
In full: A few minor teething problems at the start, but once the run got going everything was perfect. It's my home town, so I'm a bit biased, but the surroundings are fantastic. Nice and flat for the speed merchants.
