In short: Perfect New Year half!
In full: I'm a relative novice (5 races last year including 2 halfs), and this was the smallest race I've run by miles. Was a bit nervous thinking that being smaller it would be stacked with real hardcore maniacs running 1:10, but the spread of times was about the same as in the big races I've run - only it was infinitely more pleasant. It was well organised and marshalled - yeah, ok, not many supporters out but it was in the middle of nowhere and freezing cold so not a surprise really!Ran 17mins off my PB from last Spring too (not all the course tho, ran over 1,000 miles since then)Definitely be back next year:)

In short: Great event to start the year
In full: Very quiet small race with just a few supporters in the village, very cold and icy. But fantastic value and great way to start the year. Very flat apart from going over the motorway bridges. Good marshalling throughout, didn't offer as much encouragement as at other events, but probably due to how cold it was, so can only thank them all for doing a great job on the day. Marshalls must have found it hard going. Water stations spread a little odd. Only had two, with the latter one too close to the end to worth bothering with. Would have been better if one was at the half way point. Very nice medal at the end. Nice venue at the village hall. Took my young family who were quite happy eating and drinking in the hall and kept themselves entertained enough so didn't get bored. Good idea to get plenty of helpers in for massages. Certainly intend to be back in the future.

In short: Perfect Christmas Turkey Burner!
In full: Nice friendly village, with it being a great scenic route. Flat course which is good for speed, with a couple of challenging hills to cross the motorway. Well marshalled, enjoyable and a great way to get the year in motion.

In short: Nice, flat course - good way to begin the year
In full: Well marshalled course, both at intersections and cyclists alongside. Flat, picturesque course, broken up by the odd motorway bridge to provide some welcome variety.

In short: Nice countryside route, friendly marshals
In full: Catforth is a quiet village, & this is a nice run on country roads. Not too hilly. Plenty of marshals & a sweeep bike, which have been missing at other races by this organiser, so good to see. Good meeting place at the village hall. Nice medal.

In short: Excellent Start to the Year
In full: Great Race, well organised. Only one minor gripe, maybe more than one ladies loo next time.
I'll definitely be back next year.

In short: Cracking race.
In full: As a beginner I found this race to be very beginner-friendly. Lots of marshalls & car parks well signed. Nice touch having college students & teachers come to do massages - very much needed! I found this to be a friendly event so I would say to people scared of running in smaller events to give it a go because I found it more enjoyable than some of the larger events I've taken part in. The only downside was lack of ladies loos - I shall be using the men's portacabins next time!!

In short: Great way to start the year
In full: This is a flat course (only climbs are over the motorway bridges) and if the weather is kind I would say you have every chance of a fast time.

The organisation is great, with plenty of parking, massages and very inexpensive food and drink. £1.50 for a bacon bap and coffee. Would defo do this again.
