In short: The volunteers were incredibly helpful In full: I only started running in May and have recently been diagnosed with Exercise Induced Asthma. This was my first ever 10k run, I did struggle but my thanks go to the lovely volunteer lady who ran with me from about 5k and gave me lots of encouragement. will definately have another go next year. In short: Great atmosphere for a mildly challenging 10k In full: First time running the LOSS 10k and loved it! The atmosphere was brilliant; friendly runners, excellent marshals and really enthusiastic croud who cheered on anyone and everyone.
Well organised, started near the front so had no problem with crowding over the start line. Got my 10k PB and you get a great medal and nice little goodie bag.
Had a great morning, very impressed! Thanks to all who helped out & organised. Date of review: October 21, 2013
In short: Nice run on a wet day, good views over the mud on the Thames Estuary In full: Mainly a there and back again run, with the only hill of note after 1k (and its descent after 2)and then off to Chalkwell and back again along the sea wall - all ok, bit narrow in places. Well Marshalled though.
Venue is basically a field with tents and portaloos, so not too great on a wet day. There is a cafe though, but never got in there myself.
Memo to Organisers - If your're going to have the finish at a C2C rail station, approx 750M from the start/baggage area, why no baggage van to take our kit to the finish, so that those of us who are more eco minded, can just get back on the train?
PS, commiserations to those who drove and parked thinking the wardens might not be busy on a wet Sunday morning, so didn't queue for a parking slip! Date of review: October 21, 2013
In short: Challenging course - Great medal In full: The course is fairly challenging and has some hilly sections in the first 5k. After that it's pretty flat. Organisation was very good and the marshalling top notch. Lovely medal and a little goody bag which you don't see too often. Will be back next year. Date of review: October 21, 2013
In short: Superb race In full: 1st time running this & clocked my 2013 PB at 10k, will defiant lye being doing this again next year. This was well organised & the Marshall's on the route were faultless, a couple of tricky hills especially at the beginning but once over that the course was very good. Good luck for all those who enter next year. Date of review: October 20, 2013
In short: Good, challenging run In full: A good race with a nice view over the Thames estuary. Two steep uphill sections (and similarly two "free" downhill sections). It was raining on the day so not many supporters along the track. Also there were sections not free of traffic however no major impact on finishing times. Not easy to overtake as some parts were fairly narrow. Overall very pleasant race which could have been even better. Date of review: October 22, 2012
