In short: Nice challenging 10k In full: Firstly, what a fantastic medal !
Great event, well organised with a very steep and challenging hill at the start. From then on its slightly undulating but the back end is flat as a pancake.
I somehow PB'd on this course, so never say never ! Date of review: April 11, 2013

In short: Good, challenging run In full: A good race with a nice view over the Thames estuary. Two steep uphill sections (and similarly two "free" downhill sections). It was raining on the day so not many supporters along the track. Also there were sections not free of traffic however no major impact on finishing times. Not easy to overtake as some parts were fairly narrow. Overall very pleasant race which could have been even better. Date of review: October 22, 2012

In short: Quality Course, Quality organisation In full: Tough first 5km, but quick 2nd 5km. Know area well and was concerned pre-event it would be too busy for 400 runners on run back along seafront but proved not to be the case. Offered fruit and sweets on way back to HQ post race, lovely touch. Encouraging marshalls. Great race. Date of review: November 15, 2011

In short: A fun partly challenging 10k in a scenic setting In full: I entered this race having missed the Southend 10k a couple of weeks previously and am glad i did. The run is more challenging than southend - a couple of hills at the start with the last 5k being easier / flat. The route is scenic with views over the old town and the seafront. The race was well organised, however it is restricted to 450 runners - so worth applying early. Date of review: October 19, 2011

In short: An already good event that gets better every year.... In full: Good route up and down hills for the first 5k before a downhill/flat fast 5k to the finish. Pace this well and you can run a fast time. Have entered this event in each of its 3 years to date and it just keeps on getting better. First event was good, the changes to route last year were a further improvement and the organisation this year was very slick. Not sure I'd love the walk back to Race HQ on a day when we're less blessed by the weather but that's a minor gripe and is a result of the route change which helps the route and the marshalling. Well done Striders - another great event. Date of review: October 17, 2011

In short: A really good race with nice scenery. Quite hilly but what goes up must come down and a nice flat stretch over the last few k's! Date of review: October 30, 2010
