In short: Tough, yet brilliant! In full: This was probably way out of my depth- in fact the 16 miles of this took me much longer than my Brighton full marathon time! Yet it was so friendly, welcoming and the organisation brilliant!Thank you for a great race. I will be looking out for the 10k in this series next year!! Date of review: June 27, 2012

In short: Best and hardest race I have ever done! In full: I don't usually post reviews on races but I felt compelled to write about the Mm. It was by far and away the best race I have done, the hills were mental, so was the start and everyone was so friendly and encouraging. I'm still aching now but still feel an amazing sense of achievement, here's to the next! Date of review: June 26, 2012

In short: Yet again the Munro delivers the most challenging and rewarding race experience of the year. In full: The pain during and after reminds you that you are taking part in something special. Great organisation! Great atmosphere amongst the masochistic mrunners! Ample water, sweets and salted crisps along the course! Great T-shirt, Medal and Cap! Fabulous food at the end! I will be back for the "normal" Munro in 2013 ... Date of review: June 25, 2012

In full: The description of brutal is so appropriate. Nice smooth surface of the Zig Zag was fine but the double on Juniper Hill was a real struggle. Jelly sweets and plenty of water stops were most welcome. No place for PBs and sure that it must be more than 3,500 ft of ups and downs. Will be back for more next year on the easier course. In short: Great Run - Prepare Your Quads! In full: Fantastic run - Atmosphere welcoming and friendly, and the focus is set on finishing and pushing yourself to do the best you can. Its a great atmosphere and a great challenge, having done my first full marathon earlier in the year I found this a tough challenge at the 16 mile distance so fair play to those who go for the 'Picnic' full marathon on the same day! In short: 6th Munro! Bring it on! In full: I slept until 1pm on Sunday (which is unheard of really for me), and I am still aching all over (legs, shoulders, arms, I ought to relax whilst suffering!). However I think I've improved my time, I really ran downhills and tried to walk at good pace up the stairs. The start was a special edition, superb new tarmac on zigzag (on a personal note, I hate running on tarmac!) road, it was hard surface, long and windy: GREAT stuff. Loved the sweets, did not try the crisps! Yes I favour water (rather than fizzy drink) but eh it happens (running out), water stops were plentiful. Marshals were great, and without them, there would be no race! Thank you again Dr Rob for your tremendous efforts at organising such monstrous, unforgettable events, which make us so stiff and proud! As ever, my complete admiration for all Picnic runners! It is a race you run for the challenge, the atmosphere and in a weird way for fun really!!!!!!!! Yet, I would recommend some (serious)running before considering entering it! Thank you to all involved (sandwiches/ cakes at the end were so welcome and delicious!). See you next year for my 7th!!!!!! 16 miles is good by the way!!!!!!! Date of review: June 25, 2012
