In short: Thanks to the organisers for their work clearing the majority of the flood water away. Brilliant race, terrible weather but at least you felt like you'd been out!

In short: Good fast race in the rain
In full: Despite the problems at the start which couldnt be avoided, this was a good race. Only when you see the video of the poor guy with his hand down the drain do you realise how much effort was put into clearing the water. Bit muddy at the end but really enjoyed it and a PB !

In short: Excellant race, good mixture of club runners and first timers/One Off runners
In full: For sheffield a flattish course, well organised, although this year the weather tested that, no water station but plenty of water in the air this year! Good marshalling and it enjoys having closed roads.

In short: Great Day, despite the weather
In full: As always Striders put on a great event. The monsoon conditions made things difficult, and this made certain minor problems beyond there control.

Super race well done to the organisers

In short: Nice pre-Xmas run around a scenic and flattish part of Sheffield
In full: As other reviewers have mentioned, there were problems and some confusion surrounding the start. I`d heard that it was a delayed start at 10am so I was not really ready when the claxon went at 9.50am but, considering the incredibly heavy pre-race rain, the event went well. I also agree about being funneled into a muddy field at the end to get the pud which seemed daft.

However, the course is a really nice out and back run in a popular running area with some undulations but it is as flat as you can get in this part of the world. There was a nice atmosphere and a real mix between some very good club athletes and others who probably only run one race each year. I now know why this event sells out very quickly every year!

In short: Great local race, an almost flat run with proven PB potential!
In full: Brilliant run, great route and very motivating to see the front runners as you turn at the half way point. The organiser's deserve praise for getting the race up and running which was doubtful at stages due to the water on the course - all in all a fun, eventful and marvalously supported race - and a PB by over 3 mins for me!

In short: Love this one - just one big niggle - organisers said race delay was 30 minutes and then changed their mind. ! Not really fair on a few of the runners making their way to the start at just after 9.50 to hear the claxton go off!!
