In short: Thoroughly enjoyable but could be a pig if bad weather on the bridge
In full: A great race with a wonderful view from the Humber bridge for the majority of the race.
The bridge does seem to be all uphill though!!
Could be difficult if very windy and wet as no shelter as you are so high up.
Overall I will happily do again next year.

In short: Good day out, great scenery!
In full: Did this one today, enjoyed it! Bit windy on the bridge which made things harder. I'm not a beginner but I'm nothing special, and I managed to get round OK, knocking 8sec from my PB which was good. Recommended but perhaps not as a first race. Great views though!

In short: First 10k of 2008 and worth the wait
In full: Only my second 10k, and an 8 month gap from the first one, I was sure that I would struggle with this race, even though the race itself is fairly flat.

There's a little climb away from the start up to Ferriby Road but the effort comes at the 5k mark when you head back towards the North Bank.

Apart from that, if this had been a clear day, it would have been time to sit back and enjoy the views.

I'll certainly be back in 2009.

In short: An ambition realised!
In full: Wanted to run over this bridge for a while now, I drive over it plenty. Hadn't trained well but completed it nicely. The marshalls were excellent and encouraging and the race was extremely well organised. The route was great and lived up to my expectations. The start was a nice gently pull uphill and the bridge was super. The race had a clubby feeling and some of the runners had an 'attitude' - despite the fact that they had finished their race they were cooling down by running back out while runners were still completing the course when there was plenty of space on the rugby ground to cool down! A £9 entry fee is fair enough and didn't break the bank but I'm not interested in a bright green baseball cap as a prize, would prefer a drink and a snack! (water was provided). Not one of my all time favourite races but it could be a contender - I'll do it again next year.

In short: Cracking course, great support, well organised.
In full: A really hot day so not the quickest of times but well worth the trip and will definitely be up for it next year.
