In short: Poor, unhelpful and unprofessional timing people In full: I turned up late for the race, had a chat with the race director who was understanding and did a good job.
I was very unimpressed and shocked at the level of unprofessionalism by the Timing Chip people.. Moaning and groaning, and everything a big issue, Especially the silly little teanager who clearly did not want to be there giving it all the lip....They issued me with a number, no chip, no pins for the number. No dought the race would have been good and by reading the comments it was. Its just a pitty that these people spoit it... Date of review: March 21, 2011

In short: Very welcoming for all abilities In full: I ran the Spring version as part of my Marathon training and wanted to do it again because I enjoyed it so much. Better this time round given the change in start / finish position and despite the weather the Marshalls were great again. I do wonder if a number of people decided not to do it given the forecast but that was their loss as it actually only rained for 15 or so miles.... Date of review: November 1, 2010

In full: Completely disagree that this was not a slower pace/beginner's race. Although an experienced runner I will never be quick; got round in 3:41 which I was ecstatic about having expected nearly 4 hours. Was encouraged all the way by fantastic marshals & smiles at the finish. Loved the medal & mars bar! I always take a flask of tea to races & gels/nutrition to carry on the run. In short: Clearly aimed at the better runner and a poor/average runner will feel out of place In full: If you are a 10 minute mile guy/guyess, this is not the race for you. I finished in 3;25 and could not even get a cup of tea at the end as the catering had packed up and gone. Details not sent by post and on the day, the safety pins were rationed to 2 per person (note the comment about safety pins from the organisers in the context of cancellations/refunds). Water stations roughly every three miles but only water - no juice/sports drinks. Energy gels available but you need to stop and get them as they were not offered with the water.
All in all a disappointment. The course is nice and I could have enjoyed it but getting nothing whatsoever to drink when I finished was a huge disappointment. There wasn't even a Lucozade in the finishers' goodies. Date of review: October 6, 2010

In short: Well organised with a nice mix of flat fast airfield and undulating Surrey roads. In full: Second time I have run this, and the slight revision to the way that the route was run really worked. Fantastic Job! I will be back for more in March 2011. Date of review: October 5, 2010

In short: Well organised - just not keen on the road sections with no pavements In full: Did the 10 miler. Race was well organised, with cheerful marshalls, who remained smiling despite the rain.
Only thing I wasn't keen of was running along the busy countryroads, with no pavements, with the cars coming up behind you, so weren't really sure where they were. Not sure if there was a reason why we couldn't run facing the traffic. To be honest I'm amazed there wasn't an accident - in particular one runner in front of me who decided to run across a junction without looking to see if a car was coming - a very narrow miss!!!! Also concerning to see a number of runners running with headphones despite Events to Live threatening to disqualify anyone who did. The roads were narrow, so commonsense not to use headphones in order not to put yourself, or any of the marshalls at risk.
Also agree with the person about the pre race instructions on how to get to the aerodrome - definitely could be clearer - in particular saying Stovolds Hill was off the A281 - when in fact it was off another road. A bit of sweating whether we would find the place in time.
All in all a fine race and hopefully in Spring will be up for the 20 miler..... the excellent medal is definitely an incentive to run it again.... Date of review: October 4, 2010

In short: wet n windy - well a little bit - amazing organisation topped by brilliant Marshals !! In full: Once again Events to Live bring race day alive even in the most challenging of weather conditions...AMAZING marshals, really made the event lots of smiles encouraging every runner as they passed by... weather made it a bit damp... Race Directors did an amazing job YET AGAIN !!!! BRAVO !! Date of review: October 4, 2010
