In short: Fantastic event
In full: Thanks so much to the organisers, great race and a great atmosphere plus loads of mud and some technical descent!

Will definitely be signing up for more of your races!

In short: Great for newbies!
In full: My first trail run and I'll definitely be back for more! Was great fun and well-marshalled - beautiful views. Good running weather meant a lack of mud on the 10k route (a little disappointing!) but I'm not going to complain that it wasn't raining! A bit difficult to park, but otherwise well organised. The best part was crossing the finish line with the drummers bringing you in - brilliant!!

In short: Do it!
In full: My first competitive race since school days. Consists of one big hill, with a flat bit along a disused railway beforehand. Incredible scenery. As I love running downhill, the second half of the circuit was great fun! Steep in places, up and downhill! Highly recommended, I ran a much quicker time than I was expecting. I came all the way from York for this and don't regret it one bit. Thoroughly enjoyable.

In short: great run, lovely scenary and good to have some water stations along the way.
In full: Only minor downside to my run was at the end when spectators were in the way of the finish line so i had to stop to go round them, could have kept this part of the course more clear.

In short: Greta course, no matter what the weather may throw at us.
In full: Soaked to the skin before the start, but it didn't matter in the slightest. The course was so good there was no cause to even notice the rain. Great organisation as always. Will I try my luck at the full marathon next year??

In short: Great off road half
In full: Fabulous course. Enough twists turns, climbs and descents to test and keep you interested. Shame about the dreadful weather which no doubt impacted on the turn out for both runners and spectators alike.
By and large the marshalling was good apart from about half a mile from the end, where a distinct lack of direction resulted in a loss of direction. I wasn't bothered about a time today but can imagine that those who were may have been a bit stressed by this.

In short: A tough route through glorious scenery
In full: Had the weather been better, the views would have been superb. As it was, the going was slippy on the downhills, and tough on the climbs! The route was spectacular, winding through woods and along lakes, but not for the faint-hearted! Great technical T-shirt as a reward, but really really would have liked a medal, like the marathoners! Or even just a banana...

In short: Do some hills beforehand!
In full: Cracking event with some great scenery and a complete mix of terrain. A fair few climbs, but nothing really brutal and most of the "going up" is in the first half of the race. A lot of the climbs are on tarmac/hardpack too, but some trickyish descents in the wet conditions (mainly tree roots). As long as you've a reasonable level of fitness and have some off road experience this should hold few fears and be a lot of fun.

In short: Good trail race
In full: Enjoyed this. Normally a road runner and Lakeland walker so this was a great combination. Great organization and well marshalled. I loved the trails, needed to keep your concentration to ensure sound footing and take deep breaths to get up the hills. The first half of the course got most of the uphill out of the way which helped. Overall an enjoyable run.
