In short: For every uphill there is a downhill !
In full: Enjoyed it but it was very tough due to the hills. After about 8 miles I abandoned chasing a time in favour of just getting round without stopping. Virtually no flat sections but was interesting to see the tactics employed by others on the hills. Learnt from the club runners today.

In short: Not for the faint hearted....
In full: Very warm day for this run which did not do me any favours the hill between 6 and 7 mile did me after that it was an amble more than a run.Lots of local support along the route and vocal marshals lovely scenery four water stations and nice big downhill finish on to the racecourse.

In short: Great race, route, parking, toilets and nice people and a PB
In full: Only my 5th half marathon and I was a little apprehensive having read some reviews about the hills, but I thought this was a very fair course one big hill at about 6.5 miles and a bit of a long slope at the start and a few other hills, but nothing terrible after the big hill at 6.5, but there are a couple of very big down slopes where you can take a breather and make up a lot of time. Also the last mile or so is mostly down hill which helps. Weather was great and there was a good atmosphere with a bit of chatter along the route which is new for me (I can’t normally breath let alone talk so I must be getting better). You can pb on this course my previous best was 1hr 44 at Wilmslow and I did 1hr 41 10sec here and was absolutely delighted and I’ll be back next year. Water in cups and no chip timing but overall its good value and I had a lot of fun.

In full: A bit of a delay in starting, but no big deal. The hill between 6 and 7 was a killer, but knew it was coming. Friendly marshals throughout and well-spaced water stations, although could've done with another few gulps upon finishing! Very scenic and well supported by the locals. Excellent value for money. Will be back!

In short: Fabulous scnery, challenging yet doable terrain, brilliant support
In full: First time to this race, my 6 th half so far and by far my fave. Easy to find, shedloads of near start/finish parking, proper toilets (as at the Racecourse) v friendly officials/helpers on route, lots of cheering and clapping from locals as we passed. Scenery gorgeous, selected farm smells all the way round - a seriously rural race. 2 stonker hills, but I train on hilly terrain and find these almost a rest for my legs. Lovely lovely. Downsides; no medal or chip timing.

In short: Beautiful day, lovely undulating course
In full: First half marathon and if I decide to do another half next year it will be this one. It suited me perfectly being in the countryside over rolling hills rather than through towns and cities or on the flat. Despite being undulating the course seamed pretty fast to me. The drinks stations were at good locations and manned very well by the local scouts and brownies. Loads of marshals encouraging everyone on.
the only downside was the T-shirts. Despite pre-ordering a small all that was left when I got there was medium. Why is it that almost every event I enter only has medium or large T-shirts? My other half is getting quite a collection tops despite not entering any races :o/

In short: Tough, rewarding race, beautiful scenery and great finish
In full: Very difficult conditions today, very warm with horrendous winds which made those climbs very tough in places and also made PB's difficult to achieve. Very smooth organisation from start to finish, excellent T Shirt and nice touch reading names out at the end. Generally the marshalls were encouraging, particularly the lady who was cheering everyone on just as you came into the racecourse, it does make a difference so thank you to all for your support. Well done to all involved, think this race is always a good barometer as to how your form is moving into the summer. See you next year!
